At one point in my life, I had a 928 and a fiancee that refused to even sit in the 928..crancky to everything as she was.
I have no idea where the former fiancee is today, but my 928 is sitting nicely polished in my garage.

She's my Lexus SC430! Very nice performance and low upkeep. But not exactly cheap!
I'm her Suburban. A little large, but dependable and trustworthy in all conditions, with the capacity to tow a large family.
Plus, surprisingly fun when she's in the mood for some rough ridin' off the beaten track!
(I'm probably disclosing more than I need to here.)

It is a good thing these cars are inanimate objects, if they were sentient, I would have a big problem. Long story.........., but I divorced the the wife and kept the car..

mine is on the road every winter with winter wheels and tieres.
All alloy and galvanised, did you ever see a rusty one?
But you do have to keep using them - they get sore and create problems if you leave them alone too long

Keep your 928. It costs far more money to purchase or lease a new German car of any decent performance level than it does to maintain a late model 928 per year.

You are considering to let a low mileage '84 Automatic go??? Gosh, now I feel bad that I don't have more money. That's what I'd like to enhance my collection of one with...
Hope you decide to keep it. I can tell you from experience, once you got bit, you can't let go. You'd always look for another one, like an adopted child for their parents. Keep it, learn about it, fix it, enjoy it. And keep it in good shape, in case I have money for another one in the future...
