Default Roll on to 140mph with a Twinscrew"Supermodel"

Light turns green.
I press record on the LM1.
Make my left turn onto the beltway...no traffic (yet).
Pointing straight ahead , the hammer goes down in 1st gear at appx 15-20mph i believe.

140mph on the speedo i let up as i closed on traffic
2.20 rear end..IIRC 24.5 inch dia wheel/tire(i'll double check later) ....
do the math . It works out to 140ish on my engine calculator!

This is what it looks like "data" wise
Pulls like a frikn freight train all the way! This thing will hit the revlimiter in 4th now Im guessing..

Below is a screen shot from Logworks. Its been edited to show some text that i added to help explain what the lines are. The little white boxes with data are just that, data at that point as recorded by the LM1. I placed one at the beginning and the end. Gets too cluttered with too many. You get the idea though.

It starts at appx 2 secs which is pretty much when i commited my foot to the floor after i made the turn onto the beltway. While its not exact, its easy to pick out when it occurs from the data.

Difference between SC discharge and IC discharge runs about 50-60'F.
The air entering the sc was appx 90-96'F as measured on my TC probe. I dont have the ability to log that temp yet as i havent dedicated an AUX box channel for it.
Duty cycle runs up to 100% (it did with the 30#injectors also BTW)
A/F looks good, not near as rich as it was with the 30# but I still have some tweeking to do.
You can see i banged the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift

Vertical is the AFR scale
Horizontal is Time

Fun huh!
Check the boost LINE

Tony,

What do you make of the results with the data you have from the run? It sounds like a fun blast to 140. Any tweaks planned for the future after this run?

Tony,
One thing I notice offhand is that the discharge temp for the SC should be a good bit higher. It's a flattering # for the Autorotor but unfortunately too low .
I sent you the charts for the MX422.

Just curious, but why would a low discharge temperature be a bad thing?

Ken,
A low discharge temp would be a good thing. That's why I say that it's unfortunate that it should be higher, or the reading should be higher.

I guess I should have said the discharge temp should have been higher according to the information I have from Autorotor. i.e. When the SC is turning XXXXrpms at W psi with Y inlet temperature, the discharge temp should be Z according to the materials I have been provided with.

Andy,

Could I get those charts? Might help me to understand your dissapointment and I would like to see what they have to say.

Ok Jim, I'll send them over.

Guys I am not dissappointed or criticizing anything here. I am just saying that the discharge temp of the SC seems too low according to the charts. I wish it was what is shown. We would make even more power.

Why did you stop at 140?
First time I got my project 84 (bone stock, rough idling and running too rich) I got it up to 145 mph. Second run was with my wife in the car and we didn't want to push it to the limit so we kept it safe at 135 mph. My wife has a nice smile on her face :-). That was her first time driving that fast in a vehicle.

Tony:

All these numbers are great, but I don't see anything on who long the burnout was.

Looks like it was for 24 secs according to the scale at the bottom.

Question

Tony,
Great job! I've enjoyed following along with the trials and tribulations of your S/C project. I'm not great when it comes to reading these graphs with lines all over the place, but it looks to my untrained eye that you hit 140mph at about the 25 sec. mark. Is that right? I would have thought you could hit 100 in under 10 sec., would it take another 15 sec to cover the last 40 mph?

Tony, what injectors are you running now? From what base fuel-pressure? What fuel-pressure do you see at the full boost pressure.

A/F looks good, not near as rich as it was with the 30# but I still have some tweeking to do.
