fuel lines

hi,

on my k-jet (CIS) car, the fuel line running from the tank over the rear axle is (very) rusty in some spots.

how much trouble is it to replace? what material do I use for the new one?

or do I just put it off until next winter?

Do you mean one that goes all the way up on front of tank? If so, tank needs to come down. Line goes to top of tank and connects to pipe on top of fuel level sender. Only 10-15 cm long part between sender and line is hose. Rest is metal and solidly mounted to underside of trunk floor. Fuel in the line is not hightly pressurised as line is used to bring excess out of engine but there is always much of it moving. CIS fuel pump moves as much as it can, engine uses what it need and rest is returned through this line to top of tank. If this is the one fix it NOW or you end up pumping all fuel from tank on the road.

There is other pipe in the are that goes from upper front corner of passanger side wheel well to middle rear of body behind rear bumper. It's venting line for fuel expansion chamber up in wheel well. If that's what is rusted it's not big deal.

yes, the tank needs to come down, and the tank suspension needs to be replaced as well. My problem is that my gearbox rebuild is done now, and the sun is shining, roads are dry, and we have 8 degrees C here. So I want to get the thing on the road again.

The rear vent line is rusted too...

Hej, du skal også tjekke foran højre baghjul i skærmkassen, der sidder et benzin-filter med højt tryk og der er der ofte meget rust.....
