911 hand me downs - new boots!
dont jump on me for only having one pic to show at the minute but ive just driven home from having new wheels fitted! they are from the 911 twin turbo and have hollow spokes, size 8x18 front (offset 50mm) and 11x18 (added 7mm spacers) rear. to these ive had fitted 235 and 315 michelin PS 2 rubber, and on the drive home there is certainly no reduction in the handling and no more tramlining than i was getting with my replica 17" rims before. slight issues to be resolved includes the fitting of centre caps to the front where there is less depth than before.

blau, it sounds as if i might not be that far off. im only anxious to wear these massive rubber boots evenly to delay paying for the next set! ive also finaly gotten inj the carbon sunroof i pirchased from tom f. ages ago, removing all that stuff lost about 15kg! these wheels are quite lite for their size too.

They look very nice..
I have thought about going to a set like that for track stuff, as I can get them reasonably priced as takeoffs from the TT crowd... They also allow the use of "bigger boots", which = stickier stuff on the track....
I figured out from the spacing, that I could just bolt up a set with slicks and go have some fun... They look better on the 928 than on the TT...!
I have even treadwear on my tires at these pressures, I think if I bumped the presure up a bit more, the centers would wear out very quickly, and Conti Rubber Co. would love me even more...!
Anyway, looks verrry sharp...! Might have to get a set for myself....

i also think they look better on the 928 than the tt. interesting that the GT2 rims are solid instead of hollowspoke and so weigh more! id still like a set of custom rims one of these days as i think more rubber on the front would be good but 235 seems the limit with these offsets and 8". its a blast to drive this beast, the weight loss and exhaust have really woken it up performance wise.

Beautiful - very aggressive looking!
Hey, where did you get those little door edge protectors? I don't recall ever seeing those for the 928 before. I'd like to get a set.

Nick, those look AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The entire car is a rolling work of art. I especially like the rocker panel side skirts. Do you have any rubbing on the fronts????
