Roger
Note the left edge of the brace where it sits on the consol has a small clearance cut out of it. Originally I made it slightly too wide to clear the snap-in device for the gearstick gaiter base ring.

BTW. Did you ever see my final write-up on the instrument PC boards? I still know nothing about electronics but I learned a hell of a lot of other stuff doing that job. Schoki helped me out a bit as did you and several others so I compiled it all for the Rennlist archives. (called Instrument panel PC boards IIRC) My panel is 100% now but I ended up with a German-only warning program. No problem really but some day I'll get an English one again. Compliments of the new year. May it be prosperous and safe.

Matt,
Drywall screws...
Slowly, I turned.
Step by step,
Inch by inch...
Other common console stories,
Mystery heavy gauge Red and Brown wires what the heck did they go to????
Carpeted console side panels absolutely ruined and held in place by self tapping screws
,with those lovely chrome or black recessed collets.
Broken vacuum nibs on the Vacuum manifold with bubblegum/spearmint gum plugs to stop the leaks.
The fabled missing drivers/passanger storage tray support brackets -also related to audio replacement-.
The list does go on.
The upside is we get to see the intuitive logic/simplicity to SOME of the sHARKs inner workings.
Although, one related boo-boo not attributable to PO's is the routing of the console switch wiring.

Is that a reference to Lucille Ball?

Bubblegum?

I could probably construct a dog house with all the drywall screws I've removed so far... driver's door panel (haven't checked passenger yet), center console, side panels for console, cassette box, license plate holders... I hate to see what's going on behind the front seats.

It's from a Three Stooges movie, "Gents Without Cents" made in 1944. Curly says
"Niagra Falls" and Moe (who was under some sort of post-hypnotic suggestion? I don't
remember) turns on him and launches into the speech. Abbott and Costell used it, too. Probably dates back to an old burlesque routine. Thanks to Google.

Lucy used it too. Gotta be a vaudeville thing.
