Tony- that's great that you've beat the mythical 5.0 barrier!

-Here's the thing: a tiny change in how you launch your car can make a huge difference.

0-60.....

That's why I rely on 1/4 times [and more specifically- speeds] for my own personal performance appraisals.

513 hp at the rear wheels? Great. Some 18 wheel trucks have that much power, and they need minutes to hit 60 miles per hour. At least YOU along with ANDY aren't afraid to post some real performance data~

In any case, my 310 hp 3300 lb S2 has delivered 5.5 second 0-60 times with a good launch on a cold day with my [hard to understand....] G-tech Pro. It made 106 mph in a quarter mile one night when it was running right out at Bithlo. How fast can your supercharged car go in 1320 feet?

Best of luck!

N!

normy, im impressed with your 0-60 time and i wont even tell you how long its taking me in my 5spd... traction is one issue but then the gear shift is another. i made 5.7 in the auto the other night, but thats after its lightened and with a larger exhaust - the 1/4 mile was 104 mph at 14.1 seconds. i hadnt realised that so much of the 0-60 is technique, i think ill agree with you that the 1/4 mile is a better indicator of the cars performance. the other is in gear acceleration.

Tony:

With an open diff, if the traction breaks fairly evenly side to side, two nice black strips!

No steam stolen Mike anything under 5 is a very FAST car, not as fast as it used to be but it still moving by todays standards.
What tranny is in yours? 4sp auto?
2.2 sec 60ft times are SLOW and i know i have a few 10ths to get in launch and traction. Every one of my runs i have to slightly feather the throttle. Im just becoming more familiar with it. If there is good traction at the track tomorrow i will get a better idea of 0-60 and 1/4 times.

Bill, i will verify the two black strips actually thats where my time is going.

265/35 18's on the rears John...but they are slowly becoming 30's

Now i need to drop my FP just a bit to get out of that 10:1 area

i've got the 5spd in my car. as soon as I got my wbo2 meter, i'm gonna head back to the dyno for some tuning, then to the drag strip. I'm hoping for anything below 12.99 in the 1/4

I think its associated with the 1-2 shift as that is where it occured ?

Duty cycle drops a bit..rpm drops a bit and the boost goes up a tad
