Pierre,
Thanks for the reply. That helps me out a bunch. I'd love to see some close-ups of the mounting flanges incorporated into the molds on the front and rear molds. Thanks again.

My comments:

I love the rear view. I am a big fan of keeping the butt round, like the OB's. So I approve of the big round butt!

I also really like the side view. For some reason the rocker panel and the gills seem to look pretty good.

I am not 100% sure how the front end will look on a street car.

One of the things that I know to be true, is that black paint tends to hide body lines.
It shows off every flaw in the fiberglass, etc, but it tends to blend everything together visually.
It is not as easy to evaluate the lines. If it was a lighter color, some of the lines and curves
might not look as good. It's hard to tell on black. But on your car, especiallly the side view,
it just looks wicked!

I'm still not sure if I like the front view. It will help to see the kit on a street car,
with regular lights, or with projectors mounted. Also, adding the fog lights
will help to define the shapes. For a race car, it will be functional, and light.
But on a street car, it's hard to tell if it will look sleek, etc. The rear looks
really sleek, and the side looks pretty cool too. But I am still not sure about
how the front will look on a street car. But overall, it is a great effort,
and looks really good overall. I am just very happy to see when people
give a shot at making a car look cool, and unique. So I offer many
congratulations to both of you on your efforts. It looks cool!

IMO
The bodywork is great looking, you can stick some serious rubber under those fenderwells out of the
slipstream.
I suspect that you have given a bit of thought to the aerodynamics as well.
What's the centerline width at front and rear track now?
I worked aircraft maint. for many years and while Dzus fasteners are, by far, lighter and more common - not to mention flush fit -. I must say the spring shanked Turn-locs might be a better choice as they are more forgiving when aligning the holes, particularly if someone should give your
front end a little shove whilst you are contesting a line on turn one. Besides, they come in a great anodized finish and flush fit as well. And while you can get the Dzus fasteners in a winged -butterfly head -saves time dickin' around with a screwdriver- the head is no longer flush, obviously. The Cam-loc's come in either Phillips head, or, -your choice- of a flip-up spring steel 'handle' which pivots on either a flat/countersunk head or a flip-up 'handle' that pivots on a phillips head.
Check em' out I think for maint. , particularly on a track *****, you'll appreciate the difference.
As to the 'gills', I like them, but does the location infer thatthe washer tank and the vacuum
'tennis ball' holder are eliminated as well as the rear spashshields behind the front tires?
F1 cars live and die according to Bournolli's (sp) Principals I'm glad to see you considered the air-pressure build-up in the tirewells and under hood cooling vents that channel the engine compartment heat and overpressure into the slipstream. Did you mention underbody diverters or is that what you meant by a splitter?
You and I, both, would be somewhat disappointed if the Bully tried one of those back-flip airborne
tricks you occasionaly see in F1 racing.
Again, great work!
For a little while you will have a one of a kind racing sHARk as well.
Hi John,

Yeah sometimes i think im crazy to be doing this.

As for the aerodynamics, yes i have given it a lot of thought and spent hours and hours on the net reasearching stuff. The idea was to give the car more of a sharky look but to keep everything functional at the same time. We sorta got that right, but we haven't tested yet. I have a contact at the CSIR, a local testing facility with wind tunnels. Some F1 teams have tested there in the past. Anyway, i've incorporated a lot of advice from my CSIR guy into the car and i hope to get a slot in the wind tunnell later this year. That will be the real learning curve i guess.

As a matter of interest, the generator for one of their wind tunnels is so strong they have to notify the power supply co before each start-up, cause it takes up a heck of electricity. Geesh.

The front splitter according to the bernoulli equation -

I will have it protrude 100mm to the front and will be able to adjust the angle. It will also have two vertical end plates (200mm) that wrap around the front fenders, tapered.

The diffuser will come later. I'm still playing around with ideas and doing research as to what the design will be. You can pick up what im talking about be checking out this site -

What is a diffuser?

By the way, i had a good look at a Porsche 956 the other day. Oh man, what a work of art! You have to see it to believe it, the whole undertray, i mean the entire underside of the car is one huge diffuser...

Say... the spring shanked Turn-locs your talking about sounds very interesting. Can you gimme more info please? Google turned up nothing, zilch. A photo or a link will be highly appreciated, cause im there right now, ready to countersink the dzuz clips in the design.

Thanks,
Pierre

You are right about the front. For a race car its fine, but not for a street car. For starters, look at the pic below... it's way too low for a street car. Thats Gavin's driveway and not a radical incline at all, but to get the car out there when it's finished we will have to clip off the nose cone.

As for the color, i think you're probably right as well. On a street car the rocker panels (side sills) will probably look a tad ricey if it was a light color. Well to be honest a would'nt put them on fat bully if it was a street car.

Thanks for the compliments though.

I think he's refering to Camloc fasteners. They're commonly used on light airplane cowlings and access panels.

Pierre,
Any updates? I'm very curious as to what the pricing will be on this; I'm really interested in purchasing a kit for my track car, as I don't have the time to do all of this fiberglass work on top of rebuilding my car before August.

BTW, what size/offset are your wheels? Tire sizes?

Hi Mark, we are currently working on the left side of the car, getting it symetrical. We should be finished with the modelling and start making the molds sometime next week.

I guess Gavin will be ready to sell you a kit by the end of February, but i really don't know what the price will be.

I'll have more info for you soon.

Wheels -

I've gone with BMW pcd, with 50mm spacers in the rear and 30mm in front. The reason i did that is the choice of rims are huge (compared to Porsche) in all sizes.

The rims that are on the car now -

Front 17" x 9" with a 35mm offset + 30mm spacer (takes a 245 Hoosier)

Rear 17" x 12" with a 75mm offset + 50mm spacer (315 Hoosier)

Ok, did I just read that right? BMW wheels fit our cars?! Please clarify .
I know the Audi wheels (112mm lug pattern) fit ours, but with a readily available adapter...
