isnt this a lot of work for a track car? Are you looking to finance your racing by selling repro parts to us street guys?

It does always seem the guy with the coolest car has the hottest girls with him. You may be on to something here...I need to start thinking out of the box.

I've got several questions. That looks INCREDIBLE!
1. About the hood... are you guys going to bake it/autoclave?
2. Is there any other material used besides foam? Is the process just cut/glue foam, then bondo over it? Or is there something in-between? That must use a TON of bondo.
3. I've always wondered this about fiberglass parts... how do you make the backside of the part with mounting flanges? The molds can only produce what is shown on the car... how is the mounting flange incorporated into the final part?
4. I'd love to see what your molds like to I can finally figure out how you do #3. I'm thinking about doing some fiberglass work for my future 928 track car.

That car looks soooo mean. It's awesome!

Pierre,

That is beautiful looking. It really adds to the lines of the car. You have a good eye towards what looks best on the 928. Even though I really like the black (it makes the car look mean), I would very much like to see that car in something like Polar Silver. Very nice!

I will always feel a little twinge of regret when I see the 'old' Bully.
That was one fine looking car.
However,
I have always thought that the owner has the right to modify at will.
And now the Bully is morphing yet again...
IMO
The bodywork is great looking, you can stick some serious rubber under those fenderwells out of the
slipstream.
I suspect that you have given a bit of thought to the aerodynamics as well.
What's the centerline width at front and rear track now?
I worked aircraft maint. for many years and while Dzus fasteners are, by far, lighter and more common - not to mention flush fit -. I must say the spring shanked Turn-locs might be a better choice as they are more forgiving when aligning the holes, particularly if someone should give your
front end a little shove whilst you are contesting a line on turn one. Besides, they come in a great anodized finish and flush fit as well. And while you can get the Dzus fasteners in a winged -butterfly head -saves time dickin' around with a screwdriver- the head is no longer flush,obviously. The Cam-loc's come in either Phillips head, or, -your choice- of a flip-up spring steel 'handle' which pivots on either a flat/countersunk head or a flip-up 'handle' that pivots on a phillips head.
Check em' out I think for maint. , particularly on a track *****, you'll appreciate the difference.
As to the 'gills', I like them, but does the location infer thatthe washer tank and the vacuum
'tennis ball' holder are eliminated as well as the rear spashshields behind the front tires?
F1 cars live and die according to Bournolli's (sp) Principals I'm glad to see you considered the air-pressure build-up in the tirewells and under hood cooling vents that channel the engine compartment heat and overpressure into the slipstream. Did you mention underbody diverters or is that what you meant by a splitter?
You and I, both, would be somewhat disappointed if the Bully tried one of those back-flip airborne
tricks you occasionaly see in F1 racing.
Again, great work!
For a little while you will have a one of a kind racing sHARk as well.

Now you say the whole front clip is removable? Did I read that right? If so, you have a distinct advantage right there, and a very good fiberglass guy! I just hope it doesn't crack from flexing on that rear quarter panel...
What would I change... I'd lose the "gills" on the fenders, or at least change it to a single opening like the rear is about to (from what I understood) receive.

Hi Barry. Yes the front will clip off, but just the nose piece, along similar lines as the stock bumper cover.

Fiber glass technology has come a long way in recent years. Today's resins are
pretty good, hell today's even body filler (if used correctly) is way better than 10 years ago. I'm depending on the quality of raw material we're using to prevent cracks, but i guess time will tell...

The gills will be functional, to extract air from the front wheel wells. The rear is getting intakes in the rocker panels, just in front of the rear wheels, to feed cool air to the rear brakes via flexitubes.

I'm not overly concerned about the air intakes being in a low pressure area at this stage... The power gains are minimal and im gonna supercharge it anyway... as soon as i can scrape the $$ together

When You guys are ready for the street version # 2. I would like to order the front without the gills, front fenders with opening for original headlights, and if it possible, I would like to order the top of the rear fender flares a little bit more blended/rounded into car, so they will slip right into the nice round shape you created on the front section. I do not need the air vent either. Also, dont forget the thing I mentioned about the sideskirts earlier.

Let me know how much I owe You and when I can pick up the parts at the postoffice.

Yes, Gavin will probably have a street version of this kit available in future, with and without the gills and vents, and rounded side skirts. Keep in touch.

Hi Matt,

Im aware of the intakes / low pressure area issue. I'm going to supercharge it soon, so that will fix that.

I agree with you about the rear quarter panels, if it was a street car yes. Being a race car i want them to be realtively easy to replace in case of an on track fender bashing. BTW i copied the idea from Joe Fan's race car.

Hi Mark, thanks for the compliments.

1. Thats the plan yes. We don't have an autoclave, but we know someone who does, so we're creating the molds and taking it there.

2. Foam and plenty body filler. We've used close to 150 liters of body filler so far. And to think we gonna break it all off once we have the mold...

3. Mounting flanges are created on the molds, afterwards. The rear quarter panels will be attached with with bonding liquid, riveted and a thin layer of fiber galss over that to blend them in. A bit of body filler, sanding, elbow grease and bob's your uncle...

4. I'll snap some pics of the molds once we have them.
