LOL - I was seeing how many lies I could catch him in - that's why I kept asking how long he had it, as I was looking at the cardomain website, and was going to ask him when he moved to NYC from KY!

I should go ahead and pay for it, since - if I decide I DON'T want it, ebaygaurd will give me every last cent! <- what you do to the $$ sent to ebay guard!

I got negative feedback from a lady whose ID was ripped off on a set of Porsche wheels. I was the high bidder and sent an email to the lady who was like what are you talking about. She notifies ebay and they close the thing down and she leaves me negative feedback. WTF! In any event, it looks like ebay took the ad down. I agree with Pete944. He should be sent to some bad place.

Just because we're such good hearted people (not because any of us hate ****** like this scammer), we should try to keep an eye out for more auctions containing "ebayguard.net" and blow the ***** in. If he paid $30. for the URL, I bet the dumbass tries to use it again.

That auction wasn't very old. I, for one, sent email to eBay to let them know. If it's down already, I'm impressed.

FYI, I just went to www.ebayguard.net and it looks pretty legit. It is linked through the Square Trade site. It may be that ebay grabbed the site and pointed it at square trade.

this guy almost got me too. he was selling a hummer h1 last year and also said it was in NYC. He told me he was in Greece and planned on buying a house there. I simply asked him for directions to the hummer so i can inspect it and a way to pay him. I never heard from him again

LOL Square Trade is the biggest scam ever. Ebay should be ashamed of being associated with them.

I got ripped off for over $400 on items that when arrived not only smashed to pieces it wasn't even the right item. So I pay Square Trade for the mediation of our case.

Square trade takes my money and says basically "We tried to contact the other party but they did not respond, this case is now closed" :|

If this guy has half a brain:

1) His name isn't really Hiroshi
2) The Torrence, CA address and phone number listed with the domain registrar are really eBay's
3) putulika@aol.com is an email address he stole the password to, in order to use it to communicate with the domain registrar. (Usually these guys speng 3 minutes setting up a yahoo address and use it for this one purpose).
4) He built his bogus website by copying much of the design from eBay or SquareTrade, so that it looks familiar to users.

He should have registered it with ebayguard or eBay Inc. as the owner, and Hiroshi as the technical and billing contact. I believe that the biggest indicators as to whether a is B.S. or not are the email addresses of contacts there and the owner. If a company website says it's owned by "Fred", instead of the company >>BS Flag<<. If the contact email addresses are @Yahoo.com or @AOL.com, instead of @'TheCompany.com' >>BS Flag<<. (See the example at the bottom of this post)

If he doesn't have half a brain, he can be busted. Unfortunately, mosy of these jerks have just a little more than half (a brain).

Example of a believable report:

I got screwed by square trade as well. They take your money and do nothing but tell you that the other party won't communicate with them. What a joke.

FWIW, I also got shafted by Square Trade. They did the same to me. Told me they couldn't get a response from the seller and when they did they just said the seller didn't agree with me. What good are they? Wasted my time. I finally got my credit card credited for the amount I spent. Never again. Buyer beware.

One of the things I enjoy about rennlist is the opportunity to learn interesting things that would have never occurred to me.

Cheers
