Default Supercharged 1985 euro on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...488068311&rd=1

Seems like the guys is unaware that the supercharger is not stock...

Looks like a pretty nice car.

It will be interesting to see what it sells for.

I saw that too, but why convert the top-of-the-line euro 16V to US 32V?

"Used ’85 US-spec 5.0 liter, 32v all-aluminum engine (288hp) Fuel & ignition computers, wiring harness: rebuilt exactly per Porsche 928 workshop manuals."

And note:

"This car is prepped for the FAST supercharger kit…not all items on this car will be sold with it as it remains property of FAST. It was never supercharged as proper running & AC were more of a priority."

Thats Mark from FAST...he was posting way back on trying to get it running...ended up some green wire issue that Jim B figured out....

Does seem that he has gone through the car pretty thoroughly.

Seller states in writeup that the FAST kit does not go with the car.

That sucks...

Once they take off the supercharger stuff, it won't be much more than another decent 928...

I could see someone paying a bit more for the car, with everything working.

I wonder if those dyno numbers are with or without the supercharger.

Do all FAST kits eliminate the AC?
Do the MURPH kits, and the Supermodel kits eliminate the AC too?

The ebay add says it was prepped. That suggested never installed. Yet, the photo implies it is installed.

This is an interesting bit of trivia, but I think I have the euro engine that was originally in that car. I bought it through another lister/broker. I was told that the owner wanted a 32 valve to
supercharge. Maybe Zach Anthony can confirm this if he still around.

Tom is correct this is Mark from FAST ....the wiring issue was a simple flip flop of two wires involved in the two ignition circuits ......Mark had posted a "handsome reward check" or something like that if anyone cold solve his timing mystery ...... O h yes , I am still waiting ........Thus far my rewards for "fixing" cars over the telephone.... a Smithfield ham, box of Macaroons , mint M-1 Garand ,and many Thank Yous ....which is compensation enough. Plus a wingnut award from OCIC 2004 !

I find this eBay listing to be EXTREMELY misleading....
-If it's got a 32v - then it's not really a EURO...
-Shows pics of the FAST...but you REALLY REALLY have to read the ad carefully to understand that the SC does NOT come with it - why show pics of things you ain't selling????
-"INVESTMENTS" - this seems to connotate 'upgrades' or 'enhancements'...c'mon....replacing dented body panels and worn out brakes and flushing the rad, shipping, etc...IMHO, do NOT qualify.

LOTS of to do's left...including motor mounts that are a 1.5-2 hour job?!?!?!?!? dented hood....numerous paint touch ups despite the "investment" of a $5000 paint job

lastly - what's with the "$3500 chassis" investment and the splicing of 24" of structural sheet metal from a donor car???

RUN, FORREST....RUN!!!!

Mark from F.A.S.T. had this car at the 2003 Porschedillo event in Texas the day before the Sharkfest in Blanco. He just got it back from getting it painted and was still putting the interior trim pieces back in at the event. The paint job looked really good...the wheels were cool too. The supercharger was installed in the car at the time, but he had a fuel leak somewhere. I talked with him for a little while; nice guy, helpful, and seemed to be very knowledgeable.

OK , just my personal bias but money spent on a car is rarely an "investment" just an expense......The resale market seldom values "upgrades" for more than a fraction of their cost . The more unique and individual ,the less they tend to add. But on the otherhand when someone calls for parts I could ask how much they wish to invest today .
