929 Euro Steering Wheel
Well, I received my new wheel from Dave at 928 Specialists, and it looks great. Only problem is that my '91GT has airbags, and it's not as easy as I thought. Once the old wheel is removed, the airbag fault code comes up, and as it turns out, I'm told that the car's 'brain' has to be reset. Anybody have any trouble with putting a non-airbag wheel on an airbag car. As it turns out, it can be done, but at the cost of removing the center dash to reconfigure the panel back to the Euro' specifications (since the German cars didn't come with airbags, and this wheel was a 'sport' option. I guess I'll keep the original wheel, since it has worth (although I'd consider selling it since it's in perfect shape). Any feedback appreciated.

There are plug-ins to simulate the airbag's presence.
I believe they are just a resistor.

Well, as it turns out, it's not as simple as 'fooling' the system with a plug in type of resistor. If you do that, then the sensing system and passenger airbag will still be functional. You have to configure the operating system as per the Euro specs. The trick is to override the alarm on the car that senses airbags missing (and thinks someone is steeling the airbags). Long story short, is that part is done, and now it's just a matter of installing the new wheel. Picking up the car shortly...looking forward to the new feel.
Hope this helps anyone who changes steering wheels.
