My GT with X Pipe & no cats dynoed @ 301 RWHP.

Mike:
It will reach warp speed and catapult you to Mars... All it takes is a little "reverse engineering".
Or, to be more precise: "reversing engineering". Chop, chop, like in a chop shop...
Unless someone shows proof in form of dyno charts before and after ONLY the replacement of cats with the X-Pipe, I highly doubt that Jim H's dyno numbers are that high just because of that. I am not disputing Louis Ott's engineering and the quality or sound of the X-Pipes. I'm not disputing either, that removing the cats will yield a hint of extra power (about 3% or 10hp on an S4). But the two combined without any other changes and a super strong engine to begin with are unlikely to turn your automatic S4 into a 301rwhp monster.
And remember that more noise fools us humans into believing that our cars go faster. You might actually have less gain than the extra noise suggests to you.
BTW: There ARE X-Pipes that work with cats. I've seen wonderful implementations of X-Pipes with high flow cats. Look in the archives for the posts by blau928 and see an example of someone who has gone the full length of the development.

Correct about the S4 monster. My Shark is a GT. There is absolutely no cutting involved in changing to Louis' X Pipe.
I would be glad to post the dyno results, I will try to remember to bring to the office tomorrow and scan. The only 'mod' is the XPipe minus cats.
And as you stated Nicole you can attach high flow cats to the X Pipe.

Do it right, do it with a high flow metal cat! Make sure the cat is the same distance from the engine as stock, so it can function properly (heat up quickly during engine warm-up and not overhiead). You can combine the best of both worlds. It costs a little more, but is the right thing to do. Others have done it and survived.
BTW: Adding GTS mirrors to your car adds 3mph in top speed. Without any negative effects on air quality...
