How many of you have been passengers in a 928?

Yes, I have. My fiance gets to drive from time to time. Mostly when I'm too tired to see straight.
I'm constantly begging her to "make it go". It's like she's afraid of the gas pedel. And then, once she's got it going, I'm constantly haveing to remind her to "watch the speed", cause you really can't tell when you've crossed 80...

Sure, I've frequently been a passenger in a 928 and usually it's at some ridiculously elevated speed.
I've been a navigator for jorj7 at a radar-confirmed 165 mph (digital speedo indicated 168) in an open road race in the middle of nowhere. I've also ridden as an instructor in several 928's at driver's ed events at Buttonwillow and Sears Point. With tires screaming and engines revving, it's always big fun and it's always comfortable.

It is surprising how much more true that quote about "anyone who drives slower than me is an idiot: anyone who drives faster than me is a maniac" can be when in the passenger seat...
I'm very comfortable when my love drives, but the time I let my son 'have a spin', he thought he was still on the skateboard...

On my cross country trips I've ridden passenger in my own 928. Didn't bother me as long as the girlfriend kept the speeds above 85mph. Viribus it is as you said, she was afraid of the go pedal but eventually she caught on.

I've ridden in all my 928s as a passenger - the current one even in the back seat when my dad and his gf were visiting. He had fun like a little child, his gf kept screaming and complaining that he should slow down and reminded him of the speed limits, and I sat in the back telling him that he's not even close to the limit of the car...
When my brother and I picked up the prevous one (91 GT) on the East Coast, we shared the driving back to CA. Usually I have enough after two to three hours, then I don't mind somebody else driving.
I really enjoyed a few rides with Bill - fun drives at Sharks in the Park and in the hills of Malibu, and the trip to and from Sharktoberfest. In fact, I enjoy being a passenger about as much as driving myself, becaue when I'm a passenger, I get to enjoy the car AND see the surroundings, too!

I let my girlfriend drive sometimes. One time I let my freind drive too, because I was moving away and he wanted too so badly, and if i hadn't let him, he would have never had the chance again. I rather enjoy the ride in the passenger seat; very roomy and the car feels even faster than when you are driving!

I have always enjoyed riding in a well driven Porsche. The fastest 928 in which I have ridden has been the Devek White Car. Outrageously brutal.
I loved every minute of it...even when the front tire started losing air.
I agree with Nicole that passengers get to see the scenery and enjoy the ride.
I could fall in love with a female driver driving a Porsche well.
Otherwise, I prefer to be in control.
I once had a girlfriend that didn't drive, or have a driver's license, ever. She was a lightweight too. I loved it because she didn't know what was going on and couldn't bitch about it, and she certainly didn't slow down my 911. Just sat there and looked at the view.
I do NOT like riding in the back seat of any Porsche and don't know how any adult could stand it. Once, in my 911, four of us, including 2 pregnant girls crammed into the car for a 60 mile trip to the city and back. That made 6 people in a 911. Luckily I was driving and don't know how the others endured it.
And as for Susan Thomas: when she drove me from the train station once in my 928 I had to admit that I had never been chaufered by such a fast lady. That was a first. Guess I also wondered what if she had not been in town and had clear air in front of her.... That would have been an experience.

I've had my '94 GTS automatic for about 10 months now and have been the passenger exactly twice.
The latest was this past weekend. A friend from out of town wanted to go for a ride so I drove out of the neighborhood onto some nice roads, then let her drive it back. She was tentative with it and I wasn't nervous at all.
The first time was this past May. The 17 year-old son of one of my softball/golf buddies (and a client) drove me around town one Saturday. I wanted to see how he drove the car, because I was going to let him take it to the prom that night.
We played golf that day and he drove three of us, he, his younger brother in the back seat and me, plus 3 sets of golf clubs from one side of town to the other. The only problem was when the car died. I had been having this intermittent problem with this and had told him it might happen. Takes about 5 minutes for it to restart. Turned out to be the fuel pump relay.
Anyway, he and his date used the car for prom and he only called me once to say that the engine had died again on the highway. He got it started after a couple of minutes and all was well.
This is not to say all or any of you should let some 17 year-old kid take your shark to the prom. This was one of those situations where I knew the kid very well and knew everything would be ok, provided some idiot didn't run into him.
Of course his was the finest ride to the prom and the grin on his face still hasn't gone away.
