Default Windshield wipers

Am hoping someone has been there and done this................the windshield wiper splines do not line up within the hole in the cowl. Is there a way to 'adjust/align' the spline for the wiper arms?

The pic is of a RHD 1988 and is the left (passenger) fitting.

The drivers side is not bad at all, but the passenger side has deformed the grommet by about 5mm. This could easily allow water ingress.

TIA

If you remove the cowl piece you can take a look at the bolts and attachment points that are holding the wiper assembly in place. You should be able to see if a) the wiper assembly location looks like it's "off" in any way, or b) if the cowl itself is not placed on the car correctly. In either case, there is a small amount of adjustment on both or those pieces that can be done to get things centered better.

Good luck
