Divorced: CONTROL VALVE HOSE TO THROTTLE BODY
Hi there. The vacuum hose from control valve to the throttle body is off. Can this be reattached without any ongoing 5 digit mutilation. Must I remove the intake manifold?,should I become an intern and practice with forceps. If,perhaps I must remove the manifold, what should be replaced.THANx for any replies and adding a little more intelligence to the BEAN. Mike.

If its an 87 or newer, ANY vac line that comes off underneath requires a MIN of rasing the whole plenum up high enough to reach and gain access.
My flappy line was un hooked at one point. I had to pull the whole frikn think apart.
this of course led to...
new hoses...gaskets...plenum and valve cover paint(assoc gaskets) injectoere balnce and service.and 2 zip ties so it would never come off again!

Hello Mr.Mark Schwager. Maybe another name is the air pump valve, passenger side, right below the washer resevoir. My car is an 88. Please absolve me from any terminology deficiencies. Mike

Yuck! Sorry to say that in my experience the intake will have to be lifted somewhat to get at that fitting. It sits at the very bottom of the throttle body. It can be done in a day but it is a PITA~

It's not that big of a deal. Lay some moving blankets on your engine and get comfortable. Remove the MAF, get in there with a mirror and some long tools like hemostats and flexible grabbers. Soak the end of the tubing in boiling water for a minute before you try to force it onto the fitting. No, it's not a piece of cake, but it beats pulling the intake.

What is the result of leaving it the way it is,until the winter when I'm prepared to replace everything and beautify the manifold and valve covers. Mike. ThankX for replies guys.

Well... a little vacuum leak, maybe a failed emissions test if applicable. Worst case scenario, plugged cats from lack of O2 (I think vacuum opens the valve to bypass, right?).
