Jim,
You're scaring me re: the dye coming off on clothes in humid environments. Maybe I should go with Color-Plus since I'm in hot/humid Florida. What is their contact info (if you have it handy)?
Cheers,
Tim

Tuk,
Look at all the testimonials concerning Leatherique. I think I'm going to go with them and I'm planning on redying (the same color) my entire interior. They seem to stand behind their product.
As far a color matching. I had a problem figuring out which color tan my interior was, the orther is dark brown. I called World Uphostery and they sent me 3 swatches. I matched it the the leather that hasn't seen much sun. Success. Now all I have to do is order the Porsche specific colors.

If the the dye was coming off on your clothes, you did not prep it correctly. It's that simple. 99% of the work is prepping and 1% is actually applying the dye. This stuff is even better than the factory dye. This has been my daily driver here in miami, it is still looking and feeling "factory new".

I followed the directions to a T and it wasn't a short process either. Leatherique is in no way better than the factory dye. No how - no way! They couldn't match my leather and the dye sucked!
Try these guys:

I agree. You failed to do a proper prep. Drying times and humidity are critical to good adhesion.
Basically the dye is just paint. Paint sticks to just about everything except water and oil.

This stuff is amazing if you need something very very durable:

The Leatherique just didn't stand up to the rigors of the Florida heat and humidity. It was fine for a good while but it eventually started wearing out and rubbing on my clothes. If you have a show car or one that doesn't get much use, Leatherique is probably adequate. However, I used it on a car that was driven 40,000 miles a year and I was constantly getting in and out of the car. It just wasn't durable. Period!

I once dyed a pair of leather seat out of a Mustang GT with the SEM brand spray leather dye. Prep is essential but not tough. It worked absolutely perfect on the leather. But Ford is Ford and the seats had vinyl piping and sides, a la "leather seating surfaces", to which the product did not adhere. The product doesn't claim that it does work on vinyl either, although on the leather itself the SEM spray leather dye worked flawlessly. I sprayed black over OEM red and was happy with the results once I resigned myself to living with red piped seats.

Hmm, I wonder if there's a colour code thing somewhere... I know my interior according the the label thing is VX... and from pictures that i've seen of other 928s, it's a tan interior... Colorplus doesn't seem to carry this as a standard porsche colour?
Also, I did check out the Bryndana website... are they a lacquer based paint and not a dye?

Neither Color+ nor Leatherique use color codes for Porsches, far as I know; they only match to sample. They don't get enough Porsche orders to justify it, I suspect, and they prefer to color match so there are no misunderstandings (wrong code, or customers idea of tan is different that theirs or Porsches).

Sorry to keep this one alive, but....
That's pretty lame if I have to buy a custom match (more $) from Leathrique if I already know my interior color codes. I'll email them today and let you guys know.
Color+ website shows a few Porsche color dyes, but they don't have dark brown.
It seems I'll probably go with Leatherique for lack of better options.
