Tim you need to post pictures of the parts your looking to buy and the asking prices, if you want assistance.
otherwise your the smartest man in the room.
And NO ONE will be able to guess what parts your looking at.

Timothy,

First of all welcome to the list - best thing you can do initially is to post a few photos of your acquisition including some of the engine ba y as that tends to be something of a giveaway as to the condition of the example.

My guess is that you have a S4 that will most likely have been neglected [most of them are] and thus will probably be in need of a lot of attention. For those in the States in the UK an engine that is "hunting" means it is "surging"- not sure if you use the same terminology as we do in the UK.

It sounds as though Timothy may have seen two adverts on Ebay UK offering oil filler neck baffles for sale- one type is listed for 85 pounds offering "new baffles" fabricated in the UK- he lists under the Ebay name of "cunnlingus" - [no comment] - Ebay reference link here- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394965448...Bk9SR9qSndiBYw

The other item I see "up for grabs" is a Greg Brown "genuine" oil filler neck baffle offered for sale in as new condition by one of our 928 friends in the UK for the sum of 89 pounds. Our friend also has a S4 filler neck for sale at 75 pounds as well. Note to GB:- if you happen to refer to the Ebay link above please take a sedative before you do so!

Hopefully Timothy will confirm whether my observations are correct. I believe he is asking whether such a baffle is needed. The 928 engines have awful oil control issues most likely because it is a very shallow design to facilitate the very low profile - the S4 is not too clever- the GTS is much worse. I believe some of the US 32 valve models may be worse than the S4.

You might try to insert some punctuation into your messages so that it is easier for us to understand what you are saying Anyway, welcome to the shark tank

We sell a highly functional filler neck baffle, which reduces the amount of oil that gets pushed up through the filler neck, if that is what you are looking for.
Since you have a 1987 model, the filler neck is plastic.
The filler neck on the '85/'86 cars is made from magnesium and many people prefer that filler neck.
If you are looking for the magnesium version, I've got several used ones.
