Curious- what don't you like about your pride and joy.
Hi there. A question I always ask someone ,who is "proud/-seems" of their car is "what is it that you dislike about your 4 wheel darlin". I'm not talking about electrical, nor am I talking about horsepower or reliability or m.p.g. I'm talking purely superficial on the inside and then on the inside. Be honest are cars aren't perfect but damb close .Thanks for any replies. Mike.

Interior:
I wish that the vanes on each center vent could point to both front passengers at the same time. Seems that one person gets all the A/C.
Cup holder, cup holder, cup holder, cup holder, cup holder.
I wish the stock steering wheel (S4) didn't look like it came out of a Rambler station wagon.
Exterior:
Perfectamente'!!

I can honestly say, everything i disliked about my Porsche, I have destroyed and replaced - as in cracked dash and so-on. I love everything about the car. OK the oil breather problem is not acceptable, but then all I need to do is get off my a$$. I LOVE this car and will never ever sell her

All of the things that I dislike about my shark are items on my fixit list.... IOW, things that are worn or broken.
Except one... I really don't think they did us any favors using a timing belt rather than a chain or gears. But, I'm about 1500 miles and a couple of months into a new TB, so maybe it's a bit early to be grumbling about that...
Well, make that two. The heater valve should not open unless you tell it to.

I used to hate it when a car I felt was lesser would pull away from me. Now though I don't have to worry about almost any car pulling away from me.
Now if I could get some wider tires in the front and rear I would be much happier.

Oh come on guys - its a great car yes - but it does have some problems
For my GTS I have higher expectatons than would be reasonable for older cars but still...
Factory audio was always just so so, CD changer is in a wierd location, poor integrated phone option, challenged intermittent wiper/rear wiper controls, noisy AC fan & tacked on Rear AC system controls, no remote entry, Console window switches hard to reach, poor headlights relative to performance (USA).... No cupholder (really).
Its still a great car - probably the best GT ever. Still room for improvement though - I'm sure Porsche would have fixed many of these given a few more years of development...

I don't have a 928 yet, so I'll complain about my other cars:
1966 Rolls-Royce:I wish it had better handling. RR was terrified they would lose the American market to Cadillac so they emulated them for suspension and handling, making the car too floaty. Older Rolls-Royce steer better than mine because they didn't stick with their guts.
1983 Porsche 911: I wish Porsche had not used the 915 tranmission in the 911 for 15 years - that was a case of settling instead of developing, and it's a shame. The 944 shifts so much better it's not funny, and I gather the 928 does as well.
1983 Porsche 944: Most of the stuff I would mention is stuff Porsche fixed for the 85.5 cars - they moved the stereo away from the gear shift, added power steering (though manual is fine if you use the stock wheels and tire sizes), made the vents bigger. Hood release mechanism is wimpy, imo.

1. Carpet no longer ahered to the door panal.
2. Failed emission testing.
3. A weird raddle in the hatch area.
4. No way to open the hatch from the drivers seat.
5. "Drivieng lights" instead of an additional set of head lights in the bumper.
6. Dammage from me running it into a Honda.
7. Worn 2nd gear syncro.
8. A "mear" 234 hp. I want 300 dang it! I should have at least 270. (If the 83 928's motor was tuned to the same "level" as the US 83 911, we'ed have a 300 hp engine.)
9. A silicone clutch on the fan, instead of an electric one.
10. An anemic 90 amp alt.
11. Non variable assiste power steering. I would like more help is parking lots, but then for it to relax back to how it is now on the high way.
12. It has a damn useless sun roof.
13. Overly complicated a/c system. If it was me, the vacuum crap would be gone. I'd use a lever working a push/pull cable to activate the recirculation, and heater valves. Instead of the head unit trying to guess which one I really want. I'd have the temp slider control the mixing vane dirictly. I'd also replace the 2.5 amp a/c clutch relay with at least a 5 amp one. Preferable a 7-8 amp one. (The clutch draws a max of 5 amps.) Maybe a switch instead of a relay.
14. A redesigned pod. Less cheap plastic, and eighter a more durable printed plastic circut board, or something else. Oh, and something else on the dash pod cover. Something that doesn't crack in the sunlight.
15. A LSD.
16. Maybe AWD? That could be fun. Highly impractical, but still, fun.
17. 8" headlights.
18. Dual exaust.
19. Full size spare.
20. Better fuel milage. Maybe wishful thinking.
21. 4 channal anti-lock brakes.
22. Rounded hatch glass so it doesn't vibrate so annoyingly when I go over rough roads.
23. At least 4 cup holders. It's a GT. Your suppost to traval in it. You need to keep hydrated when you traval. You need cups to yep hydrated. 4 seats, for cup holders. Is that too much to ask?
I think that about sums it up.

The air doesn't really seem to flow down through those vents in the door armrests, which would help for cooling in summer and defrosting in winter.
This isn't a problem often, but the little storage compartment between the rear seats is very awkward to open if you happen to reach back from the front.
Personally, though, I feel the ergonomics are very good. For comparison, my parents' forteen-year newer Toyota is very cluttered.
As for cup holders, I found a little device at Target for 7 bucks; it clamps onto the door handle and adjust to fit even those big water bottles. They break eventually, but for 7 bucks...hell. And its removable for the rest of the time I don't happen to be drinking anything.
