Default Rendezvous 2022 - PVGP Details

Okay folks, getting close and I'm getting lots of questions. Much of the important info is buried within the existing Rendezvous thread, so I'll ask for mod indulgence and start this thread with the key info up front. This is a complicated event to register for, so this is important for clarity. We do not have a dedicated Rendezvous registration, so I am working from the responses that have been made so far by all of you.

As of now, we have approximately 51 928's planning to attend, and 75 people. Per the ARPCA website, where you must register your shark to be on the lawn, we have 34 sharks actually registered. So if you have not yet gone to the ARPCA website to register to be on the lawn, please do so now. You must register in advance to be a part of the Rendezvous. Checking in on this thread or the other forum Rendezvous threads is not registration. Thanks!

Now, the registration info and important event info - consolidated and in one place up front:Registration at ARPCA for the PVGP is now LIVE - HERE IS WHERE YOU GO: https://arpca.com/pvgp-2022/

The main event is at Schenley Park on July 23 and 24 (Sat and Sun). There are 2 registration levels. A premium level at $150/day or $275 for the weekend. It gets you a lot of things and you can read about them on the website. It is apparently limited to the first 250 cars, so if you want this package for one or both days, sign up NOW.

The non-premium package parks beside the premium group, and that is $70/day, either day. That gets you the PVGP program and water. Food is available throughout the grounds at the various vendors. (note - you get 2 lunch bands with a premium registration - so if you are coming alone, think about giving the extra lunch band to someone who signs up for the non-premium package or who isn't bringing a shark). No matter which package you sign up for, the plan is to have all 928's park together on the lawn, probably in the area between the premium group and non-premium group.

For those travelling to the PVGP without a shark (or other Porsche), you will not be able to park in the Porsche corral with the other 928's/Porsches. There is patron parking with shuttle busses just outside of the golf course (see the PVGP.org site for details on that). So, big thing to note - if you are not bringing a Porsche, you DO NOT have to register for the PVGP through the Allegheny Region PCA (ARPCA) website. You will not be able to just buy a lunch at the Porsche corral and food tent however, but there are plenty of other places around the event on the premises where you can purchase lunch, so no big deal. You certainly can bring your lawn chairs and hang out with everyone who did bring a shark to the event. So, if you are not bringing a car to display, do not spend the dollars to register for the PVGP.

DO however, let us know here if you are attending for Rendezvous in order to participate in the Saturday evening dinner/drinks at Maxx's and get the coin and other swag.

For those
bringing more than 1 car and registering through the Club for spots on the lawn, the second car is $60 each day, so long as you are still having only one or two people. I was able to secure this discount for the Schenley Park show, because a couple of you are trailering in more than 1 car. NOTE - if you have 2 people driving one car and a 3d (or more) joining and driving the second car, the multi car discount will not apply. Reach out to me directly if you do this.

On Friday July 22, there is the Countryside tour - the donation for that is $25 per car. It starts and ends at the restaurant where we will have the Friday night get together. Details are on the ARPCA website.

Saturday night we will have our special Rendezvous gathering at Maxx Restaurant in Warrendale, PA, real close to the hotel (https://maxx-restaurant.business.site/). That will begin at 6 pm and go to whenever. We will have libations and Rendezvous swag. Afterwards, the party will roll back to the hotel parking lot, in the finest 928 tradition!
NOTE - I need a rough count to give to Maxx's.

Also, there are a lot of other things going on during car week, which are outlined below. You can visit the PVGP website and register for these other events directly through the PVGP (and not through ARPCA). We will have a special display of a couple of sharks at the Jet Center Party and the Wednesday night Tune Up Party, among other things. The Jet Center Party is a bit pricey - $375. But if you register before May 15, it is $295 per person, and if enough folks get together, a group of 8 or more gets you $275 per ticket before May 15th.

REMINDER: DO NOT REGISTER FOR THE LAWN EVENT THROUGH THE PVGP WEBSITE . INSTEAD, REGISTRATION FOR THE PVGP EVENT ON THE LAWN WILL NEED TO GO THROUGH OUR LOCAL PCA CLUB WEBSITE - ARPCA, WHICH IS LIVE NOW.

Here are the highlights of the activities to enjoy:
Friday, July 22:

Weekend kick-off Party – our local Club (ARPCA) will host the out of town clubs and Porsche people travelling to participate in the PVGP activities. This is at Willow, begins around 5 pm.

As to the Jet Center Party, we will have #1 and the last one on prominant display, but based on the other special Porsches and then the other special cars to display, there won't be room within the display for more of our cars. However, there will be parking for cool/special/show cars right outside of the immediate display area in front of the hangars, so you can park and be a part of the show that way. Won't need a tux for this party (the Black Tie and Tailpipes party is the Friday evening before - that is the formal party). The Jet Center party is where you pull out those avant garde things you don't get to wear often, or just plain old dress casual. Also, those going should pool resources and take advantage of the significant discount for the group buy - $100 off per ticket if 8 or more buy as a group, and do so by May 15th. $80 off per ticket without the group buy, if you buy before May 15th.

Hacker or other mods - can you place the above 2 posts to the BEGINNING of the existing PVGP Rendezvous thread please? It would be great to have this final info consolidated in one place and at the very top of the thread. Otherwise I'll just bump this one each week until it's time. Thank you! The info in the above clarifies, slightly amends and supercedes the info in the first couple of posts that I posted in the main thread.

Thanks Dave - and for everyone else - if you are planning to be on the lawn with a shark, then get registered now. If you want the premium package, those spots and everything that goes with it are limited to the first 250 Porsches (and maybe a couple more, depending). D0on't take a chance. The non-premium does not have a limit.

Note - some of you may have gotten or will get an email from our Club PVGP organizer (from the ARPCA), telling you that everyone is registering for the premium package, and only 2 people registered under general admission. Do not feel pressured to change your registration from GA to Premium if you do not want to. All of us bringing a shark to Rendezvous will be parked together on the lawn at Schenley Park golf course, regardless of which package you choose. The differences is in what you get for your money (see post #1 above for that detail).

Keep those registrations coming - IF YOU HAVEN'T REGISTERED YET - NOW IS A GOOD TIME!

Registered for event and Friday drive. Trying to book a room, but being told either they can't find the group rate, or there are no rooms available. I emailed Kate Knecht.

The Jet Center Party is coming along great. Alex and Andrew will be featured inside there with the planes and other special cars, and there will be other sharks and cool cars parked be just outside and upfront, including mine and EMan's. Sign up if you haven't yet, I'd like to see more sharks in the front ring around the hanger. I got us VIP parking, so we can be close to the hangers and very visible, and we'll be parked together. Get a group of 8 or more, and we'll get a good discount too.

Linky: https://pvgp.org/events/passport-to-...-center-party/

Also - if you have not done so et, REGISTER with the ARPCA to be on the lawn with your 928. See post #1 for details

For dinner, there is no advance sign up. We are going to meet at the restraunt. Maxx's changed ownership, and we are pivoting to another place. More details to follow on that. We are not having a banquet style dinner like we do at Frenzy or SITM. Instead, we will arrive and dine, drink and hang out. There may be prizes for farthest distance, but I have no update from Scott on that (or the coin). If so, we'll do that at the Saturday night dinner. More to follow on those details.

As to the Jett Center Party, yes, you need to register in advance if that was your question. If you are asking where to sign up for it, see the post immediately above yours.
