Question Do I have a Euro ??

I have an 85 928S and live in CANADA
I know that the motor is a 5.0L 32 valve 4 cam
It also has twin distributors .Is this a Euro car??? If so does anyone know the horsepower rating?

NO!

The Twin Dist on the Euro are both on the DS in sort of a "Figure 8" config.

'85 EURO is NOT a 4v!

US HP - 270...the EURO 2v - 310

I've been told the twin distributors identify a Euro. I've also been told, 310 horsepower.

This is hearsay only, I can't swear to either as being fact.

I suspected it may not be a Euro but on 928 specialists website it says 288 H.P.

I believe in '86 you could order a ROW (Euro) car with the US-spec 32v engine' possible in 85 too? Either way, determine the Euro status of the car body by rear fog light, side marker position, VIN, etc.

Does it have a distributor on each side of the engine or are they right next to each other?

Jesse
I would suspect your car is the same as the US 32v cars, with 292BHP engine type M28/43 or 44. Rated for 96 RON fuel.

There was a Euro version of the 5 litre 32v engine with 288bhp, engine type M28/45 or 46. This had lower compression as was rated to run on 91RON fuel. this engine was only for the 86 model year. Mainly sold in Germany

There is also the 4.7ltre Euro engine which was available in Europe from 84-86 which was 16v 310bhp. This is the one with the two distributors side by side.

Mystery solved. My owners manual says the engine is M28.43/44 with a 10:1 compression 96 ron
288 H.P.
The car has one distributor on each side of the car.

Still, it's worth checking the numbers on the block... then you KNOW.
