I'm gonna sit on it for about 3-4 months and then relist it when its really hot around mid July on Autotrader for roughly $30-35K. I may even, just for ****s and giggles, put it right back on Ebay, just for you! I'm just doing my part to keep the value of these cars up! Someday you'll thank me! But since you seem to be so opposed to high resale values on these cars, I would like to go out on a limb here and purchase your old '90 GT for the Kelly Blue Book price of $12,900 and then turn around and sell it for $12,900. This way, there will be no hard feelings between us and together we will achieve the ultimate goal of selling these wonderful cars for their actual book value. I can wire the $12,900 into your account as early as tomorrow morning and would like to pick the car up sometime this week. Please get back with me asap as I don't want to miss out on this very fair deal!
Sorry buddy, you don't keep $hit up, just line your pocket once in a while. Nice, original, low mileage cars speak for themselves. If the seller of one doesn't realize its value that's too bad for him, good for us. Now if you want to sneak in and try and grab a few bucks of graft in between, go ahead no problem, but I will keep calling them as I see them on this board.

BTW........I've got a least 3 buyers for my GT at $30K or above (its flawless) if I ever I wanted to sell it. So don't worry about me, I'll make out just fine.

I was wondering on my way to the office why I have a low opinion of what you do and it comes down to one thing. Be honest, your in it for the $.. and that's it. Your claim of holding up the value of these cars is pure rubbish.
I would think a car bidding out on e-bay does much more for the value of our cars than you getting it off early for a low price. Not that there is anything wrong with that. 2 out of 3 of the 928's I have bought were early cancels off of e-bay. I don't see how I can go around spouting I helped everyones car values by doing this however.
I also know that by doing what you do you take the opportunity away from some on the board who would like to buy one of these nice cars but aren't quite as lucky financially as some others. The board is made up of more than just the few % who want a "buyer" to do the work for them. They may be just as deserving but not able to pay your inflated price.
Your a car dealer, good for you, nothing wrong with that.
But until you can show tangible proof that you do anything whatsoever to help keep the value of our cars up, quit making the claim.

Your ego also needs some work but we would have to take that to the OT section

Been reading the posts and I hope that this 1990 goes to a great owner and not a broker. I also have a really nice 928GT that I am getting ready to sell and I can't say that I won't be happy if doesn't fetch a fair penny. About two and a half years ago I sold a 5,800 mile 1988 club sport to a fellow on the East Coast that knew I had it for a couple of years and drove it twice. It brought about $42k. So these cars will sell high for very nice examples. Here is a story, however, about influencing markets:

I have a friend, Chip, in the commodities markets. He once moved the entire Cotton market with being the only large trade that day in the off- season. My point is that it is unlikely for a person trading or selling one car to move the entire market position.

I don't suspect that low miller is moving 10% of the market per year that would be required to make a significant statistical improvement in our car's values. I also must bring up the flip side of the higher value of the 928's. If they were to really increase in value, lets say proportionally with the 911, how many of us could still own them. I would say a few less.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with what brokers do. They have bills to pay just like the rest of us. I sell service on cars. I hope that club members don't feel like I take advantage of them because I make money on their Porsche's service ticket.

Thanks for reading and let me know if you disagree.

Hey, I love all you guys! You give me THE most enjoyable time I've had in a long time! Anyway, the simple fact that remains is that I'm gonna make 10's of thousands of dollars on just 928's alone over the next year! Heres another fun fact for you nancys; you can't win or buy every single 928 out there, but I sure as hell will buy about 90% of all the GOOD ONES! You girls can sit and whine and cry and pout all you want, but the fact remains that I'll still be right here by your side, buying every single car you want and then pricing it up for a SUBSTANTIAL profit! And how 'bout this, theres absolutely nothing you can do about it!
Jim, Mike, on a serious note, I sell nothing but exceptional examples of these cars (see feedback). If you didn't already know this, I happen to be in love with these cars and always have been! I take extreme pride in what I sell and am obsessive with every little detail to bring the car up to a near or concours condition. I fix EVERYTHING that needs attention right down to the smallest detail using nothing but original parts and THE very best 928 mechanic in the midwest, Terry Heath of Euro Motorwerks (Motor Magazine cover and article)!
O.K. just for one minute, put away your envey, pride, negativism, assumptions, and judgements. Picture this; I love 928's, I always have, I've owned roughly 50 of these cars, I don't sell any other type of car, I'm an obsessive perfectionist, I buy only the best of the best of the breed, I lay in bed at night and think about 928's!
So, the fact that I've taken my passion and turned it into a lucrative business, doesn't make me a bad person! I do what I love and make some money doin' it, nothing more! I enjoy driving different 928's all of the time, is there anything wrong with that?
Alot of my comments are made to just get you going! Honestly, you would be lucky if you bought one of my cars, with the exception of overpaying in your mind, they are perfect in every way by the time I'm done with them, that's for sure!
Just to show my good nature, let me know if there is ANY particular 928 that you are DEFINATELY wanting to buy and I will back down, no questions asked! I'm not as bad a guy as you make me out to be!

You're a great example of an ego out of control.
Don't mean to rain on your parade, nancy, but if there was a 928 we both wanted, I would get it.

Done here.

Jim, Jim, Jim,

I tried to be reasonable, but apparentely underestimated your level of comprehension. I am going to go ahead, against my better judgement, and respond to your last attack. Jim, plain and simple, you just don't have the $$$$ to be able to compete with me on any 928 of my choosing. I tried to work it out with you, but you just refuse to listen to reason. So therefore, I must go on record as saying that I will continue to purchase EVERY 928 that I see you have an interest in. You will at that time have, as any other perspective buyer, the option to purchase the same vehicle for a modest markup. Love me, hate me, I could care less!
Are you ready to start biddin' on that GT, Jimbo? I was gonna back down for you, but now I'll just make sure you don't win it!

Pontificating Jackass

P.S. I kinda like it! I actually think I'm going to change my username to it!

Low miler,
Your ego is out of control.

Your statements about selling only the "best" is bull.
You are not even worthy of being a car salesman, you are definitely a wanna be.

Dear Mr. Low Miler:

If your goal is to alienate the 928 community, you are succeeding spectacularly.

Jim,

I'm done with you, you bore me!.....................

Bigger Ben,

Check your references before making a statement like that about something you know nothing about! See my feedback on Ebay with the username *928gts*. I have sold at least 50, '87-95, 928's over the last 8 years. Most of which were 5 speeds with less than 30,000 miles! Yes newbie, I do sell the "best" and I do know these cars as well as anyone in the 928 field. You just joined this site this month (I'm sorry, I meant started USING this site for free this month) and know nothing about me. Wanna be, ha! I could run circles around any used car salesman you silly cross-eyed chooch! Welcome to Rennlist! Get to know the big boys, smalltime!

Randy,

I'm not trying to alienate myself from the community. I joined this site with a two year membership for it's beneits. I had just posted a thread about a neat looking 928 GT that was on Ebay when someone e-mailed me and said there was already a thread on that issue. While reading the originally posted thread, I noticed a personal attack about myself and other brokers so I chose to defend myself. I only have a problem with a couple different nancys like Jim_H and MikeN. These two guys are like nagging little women. I should probably just ignore them and just keep doing what I do best! I'll cease and decist.
