Let me know when to drop it off!!!

Funny, I'm just a shade tree mechanic :)

But, I'm happy to help, or if you just want someone to bounce ideas off of.

It has been a pleasure working with you Chris on this project.
I would say for those that are doing these setups that the water cooling is really not required for our cars as #1 the turbo is a fair ways away from the engine, and #2, you cannot be on the juice for long enough to really have to worry about the heat, unless you are racing a 737......
Chris has shared a few clips and he is right it is very very hard to tell how fast the car is. I've got a local car running lots of boost and has been for a very long time. I do spec the rear mount (autos) turbos a little different to help with the extra distance.
I will say it was very challenging boxing up and shipping that exhaust!!!!

Holy Cow on the numbers you are producing. Roughly similar to the Audi R8 V10....Very tempting!

Thank you, Colin. Likewise.

The power output is about what you would expect at those boost levels with a turbo. I also have S3 profile cams in the motor, which help a little.

But, an R8 is a really cool car!

I finally got around to taking some video of driving the car.

Grepin asked for videos showing what it's like to drive. So, I put together some clips of various driving scenarios. These let you see how it performs in "normal" driving situations. I did get on it a little hot when exiting the traffic circles (round abouts), but nothing serious.

I'm a granny driver on the street. The track is the right place, in my mind, for really pushing things. These videos primarily show "normal" driving, with a couple of near full throttle runs.

The winter tires are currently on the car. On the two "brisk" accelerations, I had to modulate the throttle. If you pay close attention to one of the videos, you can see the rear of the car started to slide out and I corrected with throttle and steering input. I can hammer it much harder with my summer tires on, but it was only around 50 degrees Fahrenheit when I took the video.

For the gauge pod mounted on the dash, the left gauge is vacuum/boost and the right gauge is AFR.

The "whooshing" sound is the blow off valve opening.

Oops, I used the wrong URL for the "brisk" acceleration from a stop sign link. I fixed it in the post.

This is the correct link: https://rumble.com/vpbvgy-brisk-acce...stop-sign.html

WOW! Well done!

Absolutely amazing!!!
that car has brutal power, sounds like those rear tires are screaming for their lives.

Thank you, gentlemen. The kind words are appreciated.

Just...Wow! Very impressive

We just got back from a 1,000 mile trip with a lot of rain. Never an issue with the intake at all. No hesitations, dropouts or other symptoms of water ingestion with the filter mounted low. It ran flawlessly.

The car drove beautifully overall and the turbo makes long trips much more enjoyable due the ease with which it maintains speed and passes other vehicles. It's fun to see the cruise control hit up to 4 psi of boost going up some of the bigger mountains. It's also hard to resist the requests from my young daughter to go faster :)

This looks awesome. Everything looks clean and professional.

Very nice!

@Bulvot your videos are 404ing. Can you repost? Thanks.

Bulvot 05-01-2022 07:08 PM

@Pete in DC , sure. You can see all of them here: https://rumble.com/user/ShiftedonTime

Don't expect much, though. The video quality is poor and I didn't push it very hard. It just gives a general idea of driving it.

I recently adjusted the acceleration enrichment. The throttle is very very responsive now, the power coming on much faster, and therefor it spins tires much easier. Still very happy with it.
