Default Fuel/Induction Cleaning Solvents and Additives

With all the stuff out there, it's hard to know what's good to use, what's crap, and what is potentialy harmful to the system. Is there any concensus on this whatever?

I've heard BG44K is a pretty impressive cleaner, but then I've heard the same about Marvel's too. I'm going to be tuning up my new arrival soon and I'd like to get it right the first time and not spend a heap of money on snake oil. Any thoughts?

I usually use techron and only fill up with chevron/texaco gas if available, I'll try some BG44K. I was wondering if that could do anything to the fuel filter.

For fuel maintenance use Techron.

For fuel system cleanup and to right the wrongs of PO's. Use BG44K. It will clean the fuel system, valve area and combustion chamber.

I've use BG44K on motorcycles with varnished carbs and got execellent results.

I happen to like the KA and, oddly enough, I like cats.
If you squint your eyes just right, the KA kinda looks like a 951.

I have been using Berryman's B-12 on many different cars for many years. It's great stuff; the only downside is that sometimes it will loosen a bunch of crap in your fuel tank and clog the filter. The worst example of this was a 1967 Chrysler, which crudded up the fuel filter twice then after that it never clogged up again. Works wonders on late-model fuel injection cars, like the girlfriend's Saturn too.

Redline SI-1 In the tank once a month and clean motor = happy motor

Not cheap, but neither is the oil... I swear by all the Redline Stuff. Used it for years, and it works..

I was at the local auto parts shop looking for the Redline fuel injector cleaning thing... they didn't seem to have it but said another product called Lucas is just as good... anyone have any info on this? From what I hear, Redline is good but since they don't have it, should I be trying this Lucas stuff?

Which stores in the US should I try to find Techron or BG44K?

Will either clean up some of the piston crown carbon deposits which I failed to remove when I had the heads off?

I've heard and seen the Lucas products. The stuff in the white bottle, looks like general purpose cleaner, is supposed to be good. I'm looking for something great.

Techron is available at a reasonable price at Wal-Mart. Chevron stations have it too, but expect to pay quite a bit more. Most Autozones I have been to have it as well. As for BG44K, I have only seen it at a mechanics shop. Autozone probably has it though.
