I know exactly what you mean....it shifts crisp and hard when it comes back on the cams into 2nd gear, I was amazed. It will be interesting with 75-100% more torque. Who knows, but time will tell. Rumor is these ATs are pretty beefy, but I am about to find out how beefy.

Well,
I am looking forward to see your results, this is what I want to do to mine over the next year or two, I just purchased me a spare 3 speed so I am not worried how beefy the transmission is I can swap it out in a day and take my time rebuilding the spare. I really like my shiftpoints very firm and I have been very impressed with this car in a stock configuration, I cant wait to see your results with the added hp and torque. IMHO the 78 - 82 are the best body style in that they are clean without all the molding, spoilers and wings. very nice sleeper car to suprise someone with once the correct equipment has been installed. Do you anticipate having to add a other than stock engine managment system or do you think that the stock computer can handle the boost.?

The fuel system will be custom hot wire converted with the ability to program. The L-Jet brain will remain stock and in tact.
When I get it done you can zip down I-71 and I will let you see the results first hand. When I drove home two C5s were looking to play...have to wait 3-6 months for that to happen.
