OK, that makes sense, they call the cladding under the door "side skirts" like the car pictured above? Is this photo showing what yours looks like? In red it must be gorgeous! I can't wait to see one of the XC1 cars in the flesh!

Now it is on to that 01261 option? Rob, is there any way to figure that one out? It's on the same line as the "Exclusive Manufacture" option code and must denote something of interest.

Cheers!

Few XC1 pics I have..

A RHD one which was for sale in Belgium in 2011.. I communicated with the seller

A very nice looking 89 GT which now lives in Norway..

And another which was in the Netherlands.

It was delivered with the XC1 option which I think is very rare.

I may need to partially recant my earlier statements, that Red XC1 GT is pretty tasty. Maybe it's the color.

The pictures don't do the XC1 cars justice. The Guards Red XC1 looks epic in the flesh. It actually makes you wonder why Porsche didn't make them all like this.

I'll second that, the prototype/early GT wide bodies are my personal favorites. GT motors with their free revving power band and looks that take your breath away!

This RHD is wp0zzz92zks840975, to my knowledge. So this is a 1989 928 S4, RHD and with XC1... except that is doesn't have the XC1 equipment code.
I suppose that the XC1 code was introduced during the 1989 MY.
There were cars produced with "XC1" rear flares, before the 1989 MY, like the blue S4 with red interior and the dark grey. Both of them are 1987 MY (old style door panels) with "Slant Nose" (944 main lights).

There is another one in France, which is Cassisrot metallic. This one is manual.

I also have a record of a white 1989 automatic S4 with factory "XC1" flares, without the XC1 code: wp0zzz92zks840840.

And I know another auto 1987 with such rear flares: wp0zzz92zhs842013.

And now, the connection between these cars and the GTS...

I have information that a few ''dealer installed'' kits were sold.

Do you have pics of these cars?

Before the XC1 equipment code, it is difficult to spot these cars. The transformation was only indicated into the Z-order (special order). I don't think that the EXC 824 and 826 appear on the build sticker.

I will search for pictures. The first one, I have seen it, for sure. But it was a long time ago and I'm not sure that I still have pictures of it.

Yeah, I have the original Exclusive Catalogue w/ Pricelist for the XC1/XB4 cars as well.

The reason Im asking is that that the Dealer modified car I saw did not have the modified rear bumper as the factory XC1 cars have.
