I could kiss Greg right about now
Thank you for making this tool available to us. I **** you not I had both uppers out in 20 minutes.(granted I already had my lowers off, but I did not touch anything else (ac.. Alternator etc). ENGINE IN the car..
Driver side I did both from the top
Pax side did the front one from below and the aft one from above.(my air pump plumbing and valve are not there however)
I didn't need a cheater bar.(it may be tough to find one that slides over the end of the Mountain wrench anyway). to my credit I've been at the gym a lot and it takes a bit of force and leverage to break them loose. I had visions of the wrench, my knuckles and the skin on my forearms being torn apart when the bolt released.... but.. Don't worry. It makes a horrible pop and screach when it releases and then still takes some good force to turn the first few threads. No blood or skin was lost... And I didnt swear either.
Hopefully the install Is just as trouble free
I’ll add...there is a washer on the bolt that passes through the crossmenber..you will pull the A-arm out in glorious fashion then hear a “plink” as said washer slides down the crossmember bracket and you think “oh..wtf was that..and where is it”
One washer on each arm.
A must have combination of tools...

To update also...installation was a breeze. Another 20 minutes ...The only nut I could get a positive torque on was the pax side front...and from the bottom. I have a pretty good idea of my strength and the other 3 nuts were gauged relative to that effort....crude...but...
Happy camper.

BTW...Mary has these back in stock, fresh from Germany, in a very limited supply. Seems like the company that makes them was not quite "ready" for the 928 crowd figuring out that everyone needed one of these....and we cleaned them out.
If you wanted one and didn't get it, you can get one now....she's only got five.

I'm in the process of replacing the front upper (when available) & lower control arms on my 86.5, & would like to know if I can rent/borrow someone's nifty 22mm pass-thru socket.
I've searched Hazet, snap-on, bluepoint, mac, cornwell, etc without luck.
I'm a regular at our Rendezvous & third coast events so i will not leave leave the country with your socket, or not return it.
Let me know & I'll shoot you my address.
thanks
David

This is what I use https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/p...-BOX-FLEXIBLE/
Same as the Mountain wrench, but the larger 21/22mm version. Mountain are the OEM that make it anyway...

We still have both the 22mm socket tool (for the upper control arms) and the 19mm socket tool (for the upper bell housing bolts), in stock.
Still $47.50 each.
