loose wires where do they go
1984 928s 4.7 ltr
All the warning lights have come on the dash , the alternator / battery charge dial is reading 10 , if the alternator has packed in ,would all the warning lights stay on .
I have found for wires not connected to anything , 2 blue with power / 2 brown no power . 1 blue and 1 brown have round metal push connectors / 1 brown and 1 blue no connectors just bare wires
it looks as if the connectors go to two metal pins as in pictures

any one know what the two pins are for in the picture the wires with the metal ends do fit them , I think the bare wires were taped to them , not sure if I knocked them off the pins , are they were taped up out the way

Welcome to the board- What year 928 are you working on? Looks like 1983 -86 Euro, right hand drive. I'm going to guess that the two wires with the attached bushes go on the coolant pressure switch in the photo, and the two bare wires used to be part of the 2 pin connector that attaches to the coolant level sensor on top of the coolant reservoir.

Hold up here. Based on the first pic, it appears the oil pressure is off the stop, indicating that the engine is on and running. With low voltage, don't trust anything. You need to get the charging issue resolved first. Those two non-brown wires may or may not be related to the lack of charging. those two with either a pin or a receptacle may go in the 14 pin connector on the driver(RHD) inner fender, but don't know. Try to take better pics?
Brown wires are typically ground. We need the EXACT color, and if an alternate color to determine what they do, and where they go. Usually like this "blue/wht" indicating a blue wire with a white trace. "Grn/blk" indicating a green wire with a black trace(smaller color band). "blue" would be a solid blue color, and it doesn't appear to be solid blue in the pics.
Also, start by charging your battery fully from an external power charging source. By "Fully" that means usually at least 5 hours on a 2 amp charger or 2 days on a trickle charger, with very little parasitic load on the battery.

I think Rob has a good idea whats going here as well as DOC
your charging system needs to be fixed first,
probably a worn down brush in the regulator,
buy a new Bosch regulator after you confirm this fact
