digging into my 88 5 speed as most of you know restoration is 75% cleaning and repainting but the other 25% is listening and learning so i dropped the cradle for the fuel tank to patch a rust through spot and ordered new fuel hoses from the tank to the pump and from the filter to the hard line as well as a new filter was derusting the hard fuel line in passenger wheel well and noticed another hard line behind the fuel tank that wraps around behind the bumper and ends in the middle of the car connecte to nothing doesnt seem kosher

also near passenger tail light there are two wires wrapped in black prtective plastic one white and the other red or brown and there is an empty hole in my bumper cover above the liscense light righ below the latch mechanism any help appreciated thanks in advance

Hi Joe, welcome.

Try to posted some pictures.

A little hard to follow, but sounds like you are concentrating on back of car. Its possible a carbon canister related vent that is open ended, carbon system is behind pass side wheel well.

Pics of engine compartment would help. There are a series of fuel hoses in there that may need updating. Takes a special higher pressure hose.

With these cars it's best you get a copy of the shop manuals and parts diagrams and not guess. 928srus sells CD set that has some extra docs that take some of guesswork out. 928 is better documented than a Silverado pickup truck in my experience.

That line that connects to nothing is just a vent line. You can ignore it.

The hole in the bumper cover is for the tow hook if you ever need to use it.

And those two wires are probably for the rear fog light that isn't used in the North American market. You can ignore them as well
