With you guys showing your's, I feel left out. So here is a photo
of mine:
As you can see I'm working on an alignment issue, luckily Tim has
given me a simple solution.

It was *meant* to be temporary, but I realized that I just would not see these important gauges in the ashtray. Air-fuel on the left, fuel pressure center, boost pressure to the right. Velcro holds the assembly in place, easily removable for when a stock look is required, emmisions inspections, roadblocks, etc. A flat ribbon cable sneaks up from the area between the pod and the dash, and plugs into a connector on the bottom of the gauge cluster.

Another reason someone needs to make a casting of the pod, and make a copy in fiberglass, so that people can make a custom pod, with the extra guages inset on the top, or on the side, etc...
What about one of those a-pillar clusters?

Having the fuel pressure in front of me while driving is necessary to insure that a clogged fuel filter (among other things) does not grenade my engine.
My thoughts exactly on covering everything up. As beautiful as it all is, I believe that the emissions inspector should only see black plastic covers.
Ugly is good; maybe a coat of black paint?

Cover the entire engine compartment with an aluminum or plastic sheet, with only the intake and the filler caps showing.
Punch holes down the sides and lay the cover over the fender bolt heads to keep it in place.
'Paint it black' or body color and stick a metal crest on it somewheres.

Yeah... A slick engine cover, that looks stock, would make the whole supercharger install look like it came from the factory...
I agree on the A-pillar thing looking "ricey", but you need those guages visible, and plopping them on top of the pod is not entirely slick... If you look closely on that pic, it looks like they have a cover for some guages, that is in the same location as yours are... Maybe something like that...

Agreed that my gauges aren't that slick, just functional. And removable.
I looked into the gauge cover as shown in your picture, too much money, I thought, so proceded to construct my own. Only temporary, you know...

Old & New,
You hit it on the head. As beautiful as the intercooler may be, it really gives away the setup as being aftermarket. Black plastic over the intercooler as well as a flexible black tube over the whole intake tube setup (similar in appearance to the stock accordian intake tubes, perhaps) would go a long way to making it visually appear like stock. I like the engine cover idea - would look like the SC AMG Mercs?? Cover everything with black paint or plastic, stick a "kompressor" badge on the back and side fenders and you might be able to convince "people" that it all came from the factory.
It sure is a work of art as is, though.

It all depends what state you are in...
If I was in a non-inspection state, I'd have that whole thing chromed, polished, anodized, and powdercoated!
But if you want to remain low-key, the plastic engine cover is a good idea.

the guages up top of the console, reak domestic hotrod, the A-piller is partial rice, the side mounted vertical one the bcdavis posted is probably the best idea but still not that great, fabbing up a section in the dash just beside the pod with little covers and covering it w/ the factory vinyl or leather would probably be the best

Since there are so many Mustang and other supercharger kits out there that are smog legal, I wonder if it would even raise much attention to a lot of smog inspectors. I'm guessing there probably aren't too many of those guys that are that familiar with what a 928 engine is supposed to look like in the first place either. As long as they see cats, smog pump, and that sort of stuff and it passes the sniffer test, I'm thinking most may not even mention a nice shiny supercharger and intercooler. So, who's going to be the first to put a black plastic cover on like has been mentioned, and then put some "DANGER- Potentially fatal hazardous high voltage. Removal and service by authorized technicians only!" stickers on there? Print it on there in German too for some added realism.

I'm not against cutting holes in my dash, but they are out of the line of sight over there. The last thing I want to do is take my eyes off the road at full throttle in this beast.
Maybe I could put them in place of the speedometer
I'll probably end up with digital versions custom mounted in the pod.

what about getting a second console for your year and modifying it to have the guages in it, as an example, a boost guage in the bottom section of the tach
