Default Cayenne, Panamera all owe part of their legacy to the 928

100,000 Panameras and Cayennes have been recalled for rolling away while parked.

It was the 928 that originally paved the way for the Cayenne and Panamera all the way back in the early 80s.

.... all the way back in the late 1970's. Design and driving mules from the early 1970's, for public exposition in 1977. European Car of the Year in 1977, the only time a sports car has received that honor.

There's a long and distinguished history to look upon as we contemplate how one of the lowest production number Porsches became a concept root of one of the most commercially successful Porsche's in the company's history, the Cayenne.

Maybe it was familiarity but I had an 86.5 that I drove for about 7 years and I felt a lot more comfortable in the 928 then I do in my 997. They are true GTs and I had no worries going up to 145-150mph in that car.
