Weight before and after stripping?
"WEIGHT" ....No I don't mean the fat chick on the stage, I mean if a 1982 automatic were stripped of everything not required to make it run and drive (glass, upholstery, lights, harnesses, etc) approximately what kind of weight would it shed?
Thanks.
In the next thread I will address the fat strippers we all have "heard" about.!

Nordschleife Master
Matt (Fixer) got his "RS Tribute" down to around 2600# or so, IIRC.

He put it on a scale and got the actual weight at some point, but I'm not going through the entire thread to find that post.
Besides, reading through it to see what all he did to shave weight is pretty interesting.

Three Wheelin'
I just got the 86.5 track prepped for DE events.
My goal was to get 500 pounds off the car.
There's a very large pile of interior parts and non-essentials on the floor in the garage now.
I was going to try and get a real weight this weekend and see.
I've been waiting to get the racing seats in.
I'd love to get some unsprung weight off too, but that's a different thread.
Matt did get to 2600's, and it still looked like a street car instead of a gutted track car, which was the most amazing project that I have seen.
The guy is an artist.
I think some of the olde track 928's got to 2200-2300, but I got the impression that those weights went up as more safety equipment was required.
Somebody correct me if that's wrong.
You should go for it Walt :0
