I thought the tanks were symmetrical? Take a left side tank, swing 180d sideways so hose connection is at the top. Plug the temp sensor hole - M22x1.5. Certainly the aftermarket units sold by Roger can go on either side AFAIK. Same as with cylinder heads except as in a different plane.
I got an email saying Dr Bob refuted my assertion above, saying they are symmetrical if you are happy to have the top connection face forward. Based on the above, I dont know how you could do that, unless you leave it on the same side, which is not the point here. As I see it, remove left tank, and with the hose connection facing you, rotate the tank 180d over to the right side. The hose connection is still facing the engine, is at the top, the cooler connections are still correct. Fit a plug in the temp sensor hole, and a plug instead of a nipple in the expansion tank connection hole. Fit the water deflector from the old right side tank in the hose connection. In fact the whole radiator is symmetrical except for the shroud mounting tabs. After market tanks dont have the tang to locate the water deflector, so I fixed mine in place with a 2-56 CS screw.

I contacted All Radiator Supply based on their sticker and part number on the side tank.
They are out of business, but I did receive a call back from the telephone number I found on the web.
All the Porsche end tanks are gone, but he has some BMW end tanks.
They were of course ordered from Behr.

928 International carries the entire side tank replacement kit.
There is a detailed write-up in the archives on how to DIY it. I did it on my GTS many years ago. It held up for a couple years, then ended up replacing the entire radiator.
It is a complex process, so would recommend searching out a local reputable radiator shop to do the job for you.

I posted a joke and left it up for less than a minute before deleting it. Decided (correctly it turns out...) it could be misinterpreted. Something about point of view and looking at it from down under. You guys are quick!

I have not been able to buy the end tanks for over two years now - NLA.
Ask Mark at 928 Intl but he is in the same boat IIRC.

I replaced and resealed the pass side end tank and it held for 3 years then started leaking at the same spot. I would get another (all aluminum) radiator and maybe have old one rebuilt by a pro if you can find one and keep it as an extra original part

Here is the listing from Adrad (Oz) for the unit. Despite claims on the web site, it appears they are NOT made in Oz.
https://www.adradperformance.com.au/...ts/POR002AC-AN
Called today - no tanks listed separately, the 2 cooler version (only one available) is ~A$1100. When I bought mine in 2006 it was A$880. List price on the web site now is A$2k+. I had to swap in the original cooler adaptors, as the threads on those supplied seemed undersize. As above , no problems since.

PS - if anybody is desperate for a tank, talk to the above crew at customerservice@adrad.com.au . Quote the POR002AC as the fitment. They are checking now if they are allowed to sell bare tanks to me. Will advise when I hear back.
PPS Have now seen a different dimension from that in above link - core of 618x438mm,36mm thick. Original shows 610x407x56 thick?
PPPS The tanks are available - A$60 tank and Oring for export + freight - POR002PTA is their part no. for the tank, OR445X65R for the Oring. Currently thats about US$41. Will post a pic when I get mine. Note that these tanks are made for the Adrad cores, they wont NECESSARILY fit a Behr core. Let me get one and see if I can find a Behr core to check the fit.
