Ok. I just pulled the hose that can’t be replaced with the engine in. Must be possible on the old cars due to less crap to maneuver around.
Took a couple of hours and I already had the exp valve out. Going to try to find a place to rebuild it. You twist it and it rotates so needed a fix.

It’s about $200. Any less expensive ideas?

Thank you for mentioning that.
I'd never come across nylog before, even as an EPA 409 licensed mobile AC tech, but not an active professional in the trade.

I put the oil and 24 oz of R134a in high side at the dryer with vacuum only and car off. No leaks. I then started the car to try and top off through low side and couldn’t get the compressor to come on. I had no power at freeze switch so I pulled the control head and am going to upgrade the relay. I noticed the fingers that touch the slider were not making contact so I bent them down. Now the compressor comes on but it blew the 2 amp fuse I had installed at the freeze switch. I have 4 amp ordered. Going to try again tonight to get the rest of the Freon in. Exciting. System has been dormant for who knows how long

I have all the Freon in now and the manifold gauges showed 300 high side and 50 on the low side. Compressor is on and I jumpered the aux fan to get it on. I have only super hot air from vents. Any thoughts? I put a 5amp fuse in the freeze switch in line fuse holder for now till my 4 amp comes in. It didn’t blow that fuse this time.

My dryer sight glass had more white in it before I added the last of the Freon. Now it’s more clear. The driver side line on exp valve is cold and has moisture on it. The other (passenger side) is hot. Compressor is engaged. Maybe my control head needs work .

Be careful with this stuff or just use refrig oil. It gums up in the fittings your trying to feed Freon through. I would not recommend it

I do have a newish heater valve that is working but I went ahead and did the Porsche 928 HVAC Modification for summer/winter where you change the vac lines around under the hood. Now I have cold ac. Could be colder. My central flap starts out open and then it closes after about 30 seconds. I need to find out if I have problems with ac head unit. The original relay is working and I have the replacement but I don’t know if I should put it on the head unit or mount it by the jump post. Don’t know about the di

ode recommendation if I do that. Also I don’t think my dash temp sensor is on. I need to check that and the outside one. But I do have ac so that’s a big relief

Here’s my new relay. Old ones top cover is on the left. Guess it’s the right one?
