Can you plate regulators and damper with yellow zinc
I am getting most of my hoarded parts that were once cadmium plated plated with yellow zinc.
Which brings me to my query.
If yes, what precautions and preparations are necessary to plug off and cap them.

People have done it before and it seemed to work fine with all the entry points to the diaphragm blocked off.
I would personally just use some OOOO steel wool and go to town on them. It gets rid of the corrosion without damaging the cadmium plating.
The yellow zinc coating wears away in about a year anyways and is just bare zinc after that.

I plated the ones on my 87 S4 - used the little caps that come screwed onto the AC receiver drier's when they're new to keep out the glass beads, then acid dip then electrolyte
