Leather Dash repair attempt 90% better
Several coats of leather ”Soffner” relaxed the hard leather bow (https://colorplus.com/). I then ground out foam (thanks for suggestion Roger), installed a piece of thin metal roof flashing under leather to keep it from sinking. About 1/4” L shaped in stainless trimmed to match the cut and ground and dug out. Then cut some aluminum door threshold on a radius to match the vents, to make up the gap from the shrunken leather. Painted black. We’ll see how it holds up to sun and cold, etc.
Didn't turn out too bad. Better than a recover price.
