JPJ, you need to download a workshop manual (the best source is a CD from 928srus which has a wealth of ancillary material, but you can find free downloads, "search is your friend"). And to continue on with that last phrase, search on "intake refresh"- there are some incredibly good docs available here, and they will help you understand what you are dealing with.. Stick to the '85-'86 material, though. And if you print them out they make good throne reading material. If you report on what you find, we can help fill in the blanks (some things are harder to find than others).

More free advice. you should replace your ign. wires.
