Default 89 Oil Pressure Sensor Removal

Hi, all. Is there a trick to removing the oil pressure sensor from the block? I have unplugged the wiring from the unit and have the oil filter removed, but I can't find a way go get a wrench to grip the nut to unscrew the unit. I am replacing the three prong with a two prong as I am replacing the harness.

Thanks for the help!

Not sure why you would be puzzled about this as the trick is to get the oil filter out of the way.

You have to counter hold the plug it fits into given that if the plug unscrews you spill the guts of the over pressure protection device left right and centre when the spring grenades.

I cannot remember what I actually used when I did mine but I did not find any particular issues doing it [for a change].

Maybe it's the tools I have. I cant get a grip on the sensor nut due to the larger plug nut right above it. I seem to need a bizarrely thin and short wrench of some kind.

Appreciate there is not lot of headroom width wise for the wrench used. I guess the trouble is when things go smoothly it does not provoke memories compared to the jobs that **** one off - then one seems to remember every little detail!

Doubtless one of the chaps will have a solution suggestion. I have a feeling I used the open end of a combination wrench that is not as heavy as other wrenches of the same size.

You really need a service wrench for this. Very short and thin. I bought a whole set at Harbor Freight and they are very handy.

Great suggestion, and I'll pick up tomorrow, as I can see how those can do the trick. Just to confirm, are these what you are recommending?

I've heard folks recommend bicycle wrenches - they are thin allowing two wrenches to be used.

Yes that's the set. No need to spend a ton of money on these unless you like to brag!
