DIY 928 door panel mods
Basic framework for custom Door pod
Framework covered with fabric and fiberglass resin
Sanded and added fiberglass Bondo to smooth out contours
Refining contour of the pods
Starting upper door panel secondary speaker pod
Covered pods with black stretchy vinyl added some LEDs
What seemed like 10,000 hours later re-installed on the doors

I did something similar, but a little more subtle a few years ago.

Nice work and beyond the type of fabrication I can do.
For my 3-way component Focals, I did a simpler mod using a speaker pod from a motorcycle fairing and shaped it to the bottom corner of the door panel. I didn't want it to project inward as far as the speaker was deep so still drilled a hole in the door panel to recess the magnet, and also used a boom-mat foam enclosure behind each speaker to protect it from water inside the door.

That's a great placement for a pair of speakers. Seems like a good 3d print product.

Thanks a lot. I just wrapped those parts with CF vinyl as I figured it was better than large surfaces of black plastic, but it turned out well. I tied it all together with a dash inlay and it sprinkled around a few other spots too.
Here's the cluster with CF inlay and aluminum trim rings.

All the CF is actually vinyl wrapped OEM plastic pieces - wish someone made the real deal for these pieces. I think one of the things that makes mine look good is that it flows from the top to the bottom as in using an unmolested console trim frame piece that has a nice continuous curve that follows the console line. These are getting hard to find as most have been cut up when people installed new stereos, but it effects the overall look once it's only there in part or is notched. I specifically looked for a stereo that had a small screen I could use with the reverse camera I installed in the license plate frame but that would fit within the dimensions of the console frame trim and this one just barely does - it's a JVC KD-77 receiver. It drives a 6 channel, 1,000 watt marine amp that's in a modified rear center console from a Rear A/C car so the amp can vent the heat. Front channels drive the 3 way Focal component setup in the doors, middle channels drive the 2-way Focal composites in the rear seats, and the last 2 channels are bridged driving one of Hans' Sharkwoofer subs in the trunk's spare tire area.
Leather work in my car is Rob Budd's from Classic 9 - POD, dash, A-pillars, sun visors, center console and glovebox.
I've also changed to a slightly larger diameter steering wheel since that picture. Seats are 997 manual adaptive sport versions where the backs are also CF wrapped.
