Is there any Porsche design dimensions out there for the interior space? I believe the cabin dimensions were unchanged through the entire model run?

I think a set of cardboard templates would-be ideal. The way they are ”boxed in” that's the safest way to ensure a solid first-time fit.

That sounds like the way to go.

Do you have any experience in doing something like that?

Whoever comes up with an accurate interior layout we will pitch in to pay for your set of mats.

Good luck,

My Cayenne ones are a synthetic material too. They were purchased from a company called Autopreme during a kickstarter campaign. One of the best things about the mats is that they don't have edges where the floor meets a side wall or console - they are a continuous molded section, so any dirt, grass, gravel stays contained in the mat and can be brushed out the door, then wiped with a damp rag.

What's going to be important for these 928 versions is the number of base color and stitching choices that are available. I'd really like silver as a thread choice, like the deviated stitching in upholstery of the 997, but most companies don't offer that - just red, black, brown, or beige (found 1 company that offered white).

I have stitched actual leather mats in my 928 and my 997 currently. These synthetic ones are easier to care for, feel better on bare feet, and don't stretch out as much. These are what the leather versions look like - made by a company called Inpelle.

None...but I just so happen to have my interior pulled and will give it a shot. I'm re-dying seats as we speak, adding dynamat, re-gluing some carpet, pulled the dash for numerous checks and repairs...so I can give it a shot.

My hypothesis: cut bottom, sides and match up with tick marks and numbers so it fits back together logically when re-assembled, and send them pictures.

I'll get some sheets of cardboard and post results as I can. Maybe do the drivers side and see what everyone thinks? I'll try and get it done this weekend and post asap.

I would really like them if they went up the sides of the tunnel like they do in the other cars. the rears are going to be interesting becauses the seat tracks move back and even using the factory carpet inserts it wipes grease on the carpet.

I would think the best, most accurate way to do this is by using a laser-measurement tool like Weathertech does when it creates its floor/cargo mats etc. for any given car.

Are you volunteering? BTW, I have Weathertech mats in one of my cars, and the fit is only adequate, not great.
Thanks,
Dave

I have bought several sets of Weathertech mats, front, rear, and cargo, and they all fit like a glove.

OK, Dundertaker - we're rooting for ya!

I agree these matts should cover the side sections as indicated in the original examples for the Mercedes / BMW interiors.

Randy,

You could always have ceramic bathroom tile installed to replace that old worn out carpet. Just gives you something else to think about.

I'm sure most fit great. My experience was just slightly disappointing.
Thanks

I hope that's not your car, John!

Yeah tell me about it! I have white carpeting, the only thing that would get the grease out was Dawn Dish Soap, and a brush, then left in the Vegas summer sun to dry.
