There's the winning comeback right there.

A 10 year old car vs. a 30 year old car. There might be a time when they are equal in some way, but it won't last. Your car will be about the same in another 20 years, she'll have needed two different new cars in that interval. But it is good that she is an enthusiast as well.
Good luck,
Dave

Apples & oranges. The Solstice is a 3,000lb sports car designed for different kind of driving. I've considered getting one for a while now, local guy dropped an LS3 into his.

These are very underrated sports cars that should have been carried on with a Chevy badge once Pontiac was sent to sail

The stock engine is good for 400+rwhp. If you modify one, only fair if you modify the other:

You can get an easy 30hp straight from GM:

You can buy built engines which will take even more HP for not a lot of money:

The 500lb weight difference will always favor the Solstice.

If it makes anyone feel better, just consider it an Opal GT so at least it's European

As far as the "Pontiac as good as a Porsche" is rather blanketed.......I wouldn't go picking any fights with a G8 GXP with a stock 928 unless you've got enough space to actually prove your top speed is higher.

Yea yea, refinement, Porsche crest etc.... spare me. This thread is about pulling up next to something, honking the horn and the odds of you coming out ahead.

My wife likes cars too, but not much for older cars. She is leasing a 2019 M5 and I will not be racing against it only in it. I've got her interested in track day idea. She realizes this car will not show its potential on the street without a few tickets.

I must stress this is all in good fun, she has her fun car and I have mine... She knows this is apples to oranges, but still loves me enough to have a poke at the male ego

If it makes you feel any better I was owned at a stop light launch by a woman driving a newer year Impala SS. She challenged me at the light then ripped me a new one. I was like “Lady, didn’t you see the Classic Plate?!?” Lol. I was NOT ready for that.

Cadillac CTS-V differential bolts right into the chassis, as well...

I checked and it is confirmed: The 928 is definitely my quickest car.
