LED interior light issue
 

I replaced all the interior bulbs in my 86.5 with LED's and now they don't work with the 20 second delay and they are either on or off. They don't go on when opening the door. Recently installed a new relay as well. Is it possible the I have the wiring sequence off on each switch?

Yes, it sounds like you have the lamps connected incorrectly. Post a pic of how you have them wired.

This is to be expected. the voltage flow through LEDs completely different compared to incandescents.

LEDs are on or off - unless you install the appropriate resistor.

Almost the same issue here. Mine are Always on in "door" mode.

Wpuld like to see photos of the light assy in the door to ensure I have the wiring straight still.

That looks like they are hooked up right.

Random thought:

Flasher units depend on the amount of current to flash. That's why they change 'speed' if you burn out a bulb.

Does the delay relay do anything like that? Could it be that the significantly lower current the LEDs draw is somehow 'confusing' the delay?

I don't know that this is true (or anywhere near correct), or not, but it's a thought.

the easy way to determine if it is an issue with the delay time relay would be to remove the relay, then place a jumper in its place across the 31 and T pins. this should eliminate the delay circuitry and cause the system to work like the older non-delay system where the lights are on with a door open and go out immediately when the doors are closed.

Edited to correct from 31L reference to "T". if you connect 31 to 31L as I had initially posted the interior lights will be constantly on in ht Door sensing position.

Not sure why a circuit that simply delays turning them off would be impacted by this though? Now, if it were one of those that slowly dims the bulbs until they're out, I could see that...but I don't THINK that's what these do is it? Mine has never had a delay for whatever reason, so I have no experience with the working delay circuit in these cars...
