Good deal on OEM style intake tubes...
 

No affiliation. Just passing along. I noticed that my intake tubes are starting to deteriorate and crack. A quick search found these on sale at eEuroparts for $93 each. Not as cheap as the hose replacement kits from 928INTL but they have an OEM style and are MUCH less than originals.

Time will tell if the quality of the plastic will hold up to engine bay temps. I know URO has a poor reputation for quality, but since its just a plastic tube, I don't think they can screw it up too much.

This does not fit the 85-86.5 US models.

You can get those for $50 each all day long from the usual suspects.

For the 85-86.5 US intake, Roger sells a kit utilizing Mercedes intake hoses and appropriate Silicone connectors.

Randy, as Mark posted I couldn't find any that were anything close to this price. Seems like a steal.

Jason, yes. I ordered 2. Mine are in OK shape, but starting to tear and crumble at the ends and in the 'accordion section". Both, with shipping was just under $200. I'll post back with a comparison to the OEM ones in my car when they arrive.

So if the "good deal on OEM intake tubes" as noted in the title of this thread is $93 each, then is the Roger's price for $89 for OEM intake tubes a GREAT deal?

It just slays me when people think they have found the deal of the century and never check with the suppliers that will day in day out provide the correct parts that fit our cars.

As a final follow-up and clarification.

The URO tubes arrived on Thursday. These are the tubes I bought from eEuroparts for $93 each. Everyone else I found on line had them for $125 +/-, but based on a reply above, Roger sells these for $89 each which is an excellent price.

The finish and thickness of the plastic appears to be as good as OEM. I have no reason to believe they will split or wear out any faster than OEM tubes. What IS different is the flexibility of the accordion section. The OEM tubes have a nice "slinky" feel in their ability to bend and move to line them up at the ends. The URO tubes are not as flexible and have to be "man handled" to get them into place, especially as they are straight when they are new. This also makes it more difficult to work them under the strut bar. They would install easier by pulling the strut bar first, but not required. I also expect that as they heat cycle the will gradually form in the correct shape and future removal and installation should be easier.

Also, the air-filter end of the URO tube is slightly longer than stock. I used an exacto knife to trim about half an inch off that end of the URO tube.
