Fuel Sender Alternative
Been away for a while (again) and feel like I'm completely losing my search skills....
I recall a prior thread which discussed a different Porsche fuel sending unit, cheaper in price, from a different model, had an outlet which needed to be plugged and was in the $100 range. I've googled, searched RL, looked through bookmarks and nada.
Am I imagining this? Has St. Louis turned into the cultural mecca of the US? Was this a special run of a Scheiseco variety?

I was looking at using a 924 fuel sender, it looks much like the 928, with the addition of another fitting that was used for the fuel pickup.
I didn't buy the one that I was looking at due to the price when I got to the seller.

I sell the alternative for $204 modified to work in the 928.

Hi... I have a three senders that are from 928's, wires snapped and,,, I thought they might just need to be brought back to life.... So,,,
I replaced and re-soldered, cleaned things up, and tried them out. Used the original float and stuff but,,, DIDN'T WORK!
I was shooting (PRAYING FOR - due to the cost of replacing) the 3.*** volts at full and 70.*** something volts at empty. I got nothing but erratic results.
Has anyone ever had any success at rehab-ing an original and,,, are there any notes on the process? I have like 2 old but broken ones in my possession. would love to fix them.
ROG100 >>> I will be reaching out soon for the alternative you're offering if I cannot repair these.

There's gotta be something out of an Opel Diplomat that can be made to work.

I got mine from Roger at 928srus... A beautiful thing...
Problem is,,, tank is so full (and I'm not driving her for other repairs) that the damn needle is still where it was when it wasn't working. Full, full... Lol,,, warning light is oft, tho... I know it's working, and working well. I am pleased...
