Default Air cleaner rubber mounts

is there a trick or easy way to remove a split air cleaner rubber mount?

and what is the proper orientation? long thread down, into the bracket, or long thread up thru the air cleaner?

Aren't those welded into the bracket? IIRC, you should remove the bracket and drill a hole. I would mount the short side through the drilled hole.

Threaded in IIRC. Grab the remains with some pliers and unscrew. I put the long end up to prevent the stud rubbing the wire harness.

Grab your Dremel equipped with a grinding disk and cut a slot in the head. Then take your flat head screw driver and remove. Works every time. See photos.

Vise grips on what remains and pliers to hold the bracket in place to prevent it twisting.

Vise grips worked for me. Try to grab the metal disc the rubber is bonded to, then they'll grip with more leverage.

I have had success with a small chisel or sharp punch aimed in the unscrew direction, and a few taps with a hammer. For the sheet metal air cleaner brackets, that may only work while off of the car.

I knew the throttle body mounts were threaded. I thought the airbox mounts were welded to the bracket.
