Source for '83 front harness (to ignition/14-pin/headlights)?
Hi all,
I posted separately a few weeks ago about the 14-pin to alternator and starter harness, and ended up going with Sean/Roger's harness -- class act!
Now, I'm looking for a *new* "front harness" which runs along the passenger's fender and front bumper and feeds the other side of the 14 pin connector, the "green wire", the washer pumps, ignition box, the headlights/fogs/driving lights, headlight motor, coil etc. My original works fine but I've already replaced the injection harness and will replace the starter/alternator harness so may as well complete the picture.
The part number for my '83 USA car is 928.612.001.07 and long since NLA, not available through Porsche, Pelican, or the usual suspects :-) (And Mark Anderson, sunparts24.de is gone!)
Anyone have a source?
As an ALTERNATIVE question, I do have a source for the Euro K-Jet 1983 harness 928.612.001.06. It does have the "green wire" which is good and overall very similar as far as I can tell from the PET (which isn't that far), but not sure about whether it properly feeds the temp sensor, air bypass valve, cold start injector, ignition etc. Does anyone know what the differences are between that and the USA L-jet harness for the same year, will the Euro harness work?
Thanks for any insight.
Cheers,
Rick

Did you try 928 612 001 10 which is for the 84 - not a lot of difference between an 83 & 84 USA 4.7L S?

Ummm...need to correct a typo there. I am Seth. I am just a cheerleader. Sean is the fabricator of that AWESOME front harness!
Just need to clarify that for posterity.

Haha typo corrected Seth, with apologies to Sean too!!! And yeah that harness IS awesome!!!
Roger, good thought, emails sent and investigation in progress. This refurb project has really hit a few NLA parts and has honed my detective skills!

Thanks for the update Mark! That’s a good price though I see the seller doesn’t give a part number. I think the same seller was selling the front harness from what was stated to be a Saudi Arabian car three weeks ago. Anyway I already pulled the trigger on an ‘84 harness through Roger from Porsche and will update my “I’m hosed” thread as I install it, and will document discrepancies (if any) over ‘83 as I go. Hopefully the ebay harness will be useful to someone!!
