These _may_ have originated from the UK in the late 70s, early 80s considering the source they came from.

Continental Coin Corp Sports Car Silver Artbars

The sports car bars in the following table were mostly minted in 1983 by Continental Coin Corp. The guidebook indicates that there were 15 bars minted for this series

I do not know the origin but I also have one.
Seen on eBay quite often.
