6 wheel'n!!
On the way to get gas cans filled for Mark and Joe today at the LVMS, Rob and I spotted this! An immediate investigation was in order!!
It was parked in front of a speedway restaurant Thankfully i had my Palm Pilot that had a digital camera built in. Not the best quality..but..you can see it! http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/928pu.jpg http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/928pu1.jpg http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/928pu2.jpg http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/928pu3.jpg http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/928pu4.jpg \ |
Do both those tandams have power or just one set? Never seen anything like it? Would like to know more. What is that address on the side? I can't make it out.

Right on !
Well, if it isn't a Sharkamino. It looks like it is pretty nicely thought out. Good job catching it Tony ! Rob |
www.shoptask.com. bit no pictures of the car there...
My former neighbors owned a dwarf car, and told me about a fellow racer from Las Vegas who owns a 6-wheeled 928. It must be him... |
Super Sighting!!
Attention Danes - under Mad's thread last week re magnesium wheels, someone noted that 'pickup' 928's were popular due to a scorching 180% tax on cars. This could become a hot item in Denmark. |
Maybe a year ago I've read a thread somewhere on that vehicle.

Yeah Mark had sold him the parts for the conversion and was wondering what became of it. Now he know. As a far as the drive wheels, only one pair is driven. I had a pic of the underside but the PALM doesnt have the best shutter speed..too blurry. Hopefully it will be out there again today, ill have my good camera with me. Would a stitch if it had a tail gate!
Mark is curently building a parts getter very similar to this, but single axle instead. It actually showed up at his shop during sharktoberfest, perhaps some of you saw it? |

I doubt it - there's a limit you know, even for us ;) Seriously, the advantage was there 10 years ago when you could get a brand new GTS $150K below sticker (half price). Today however, an unmolested 928 is so relatively cheap that, compared to the cost of owning it, the money you'll save up front on a truck conversion simply doesn't make any sense. Ironically, the shop that originally did most (if not all) conversions is now (and have been for more than a year) stuck with a handfull of cars they simply cannot sell. Whenever they give up trying and decides to simply give them away, I'll pick one up (no pun intended :) ) |
The expression "haulin' Ass" comes to mind.
That has to be the sighting of all 928 sightings! That waaay beats the S I saw in the impound cage at the State police barricks on the Pa turnpike. Tone, get some better pics for us will ya. Scott |
It wasnt there today..but it is in town! Perhaps via the website i can track its location down.
 |
That's like seeing pam anderson with three boobs....dude WTF!???!!!
from the Godfather "look how they massacred my car".......... I'll just look away. |
Tony last I spoke with the owner it was going to have belt drive to couple the inner CVs from one axle to the other so both axles WERE driven !!! And yes I supplied him with a rear axle / body clip .
