Hello Marsekay!

Welcome to the Rennlist, home of the Shark Tank. Where the inmates run the asylum.
Is your 86 a twin dizzy 4.7L engine or a 32V 5.0L?

First step, go here and read this thread front to back, top to bottom:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...questions.html

Then, ask away!

Good Luck!

Or engine pics?

At least you put one pic in your "hello" post.

That saves the smart alecs on here from doing the 'THIS... Thread... Is..." rigamarole.

Welcome. You won't find a more knowledgeable of friendlier bunch of weirdos anywhere when it comes to these cars.

As you noted, spend a good amount of time reading. Go back though the forum, page by page. Read some of the threads that catch your eye. The "random pic' thread will take at least a week to get through. There's an "Official VIN Check" thread. You can post your VIN to see what options it originally came with.
Make sure you read the "New Visitor" sticky at the top (the one Seth linked). There is a wealth of info in there. There are links to download an owner's manual, the Work Shop Manual (WSM) and the PET parts catalog. If you plan on doing any of your own work, those are essential.

Seth - He's in the UK. He said specifically "S2". It's a Euro (not surprising, since he's in Europe). Deductive reasoning makes it the 16v 310HP. And all 86 Euros were '86.5' spec, so he's got the upgrades to S4 spec on brakes & suspension.
Totally jelly. I have an 85 S2, it's cool as all hell, but it doesn't have the "S4 bits".

I thought about that after I posted, but figured I'd leave it and try to learn something. I remembered that Brits call the 85-86 S2's, and they should have the Euro twin dizzy awesomeness. I did NOT know that the 86 S2's had the S4 brake and suspension upgrades. Sweet!

Thanks!

Actually, the S2 was 84 - 86. And the UK was the only place where it was officially designated the S2, although almost all of the RoW cars were built to the same spec (other than the steering wheel location). There were a couple of places (Switzerland? Australia?) that got 32v "S3" cars. But those are pretty rare.

All the RoW cars in MY 86 were built to "86.5" spec. The US & Canada is the only place that got 86 cars with the earlier brakes & suspension.

Welcome to the list. Speaking as another with 3 years under my belt I couldn't have done what I have on my car without the list and the folk on here. As others have said, read and absorb and don't be afraid to ask questions. Where in the UK are you?
