Selling?

Or asking?

There's a big difference. There's a 'barn find' in Missouri for $6500. Been sitting for 14 years, with a window open.
It's 'more than a little bit' optimistic.

Also, the air filter in your car is in upside down.

You also need a jump post cap & cover. The jump post (right side fender, just behind the radiator) is always hot. Anything metal grounding it out will give you a very pretty spark show and a big cloud of smoke. Not a good idea.
You can see the cap & cover in monkez first pic.
And I just noticed that Bertrand either doesn't have one, or it was taken off when he took the pic he posted.

Welcome. I try to give new guys the benefit of the doubt. I'm a firm believer in asking when you don't know something. Even simple and obvious stuff.

If you haven't already, read the New Visitor sticky thread. Lots and lots of important info. Includes links to download the owner's manual (has stuff like 'where is the dipstick located' in it ) and the Work Shop Manual (WSM) and the illustrated parts catalog (PET). No way to do any serious work on these car without the PET & WSM.

Yes, it was taken off while I was working on the car (water pump).
Good catch Joe!

From a '79 K-Jet car, I have a complete Spider intake body & legs, one of those air tubes that are duct taped in your pic and probably some other stuff. I can look up the list if you're interested.

Mine wan't quite like yours when I bought it, but close and it now looks like this, so don't give up hope. The guys here are the best and most informed 928 guys you'll find on the planet (I'm not included in that group by the way - I'm here for them).

Where did you get the red part over the top of the radiator?

I fabricated it using 2" aluminum angle iron and then painted it with high temp ceramic engine paint.

Yeah, my OCD isn't quite as bad as Rob E's, but some days it gets a bit out of control.

I can't look at a 928 motor any more without noticing the air filter (right side up? or upside down?) or the jump post cap & cover. So I noticed the OP's right away.

I took a quick look at the other pics that had been posted, to point out what was supposed to be there to the OP and...

Wait a minute...
Betrand should know better than that.

Will take a bit of work, but should be worth it.

My previous '79 convertible {intake tubes removed to show detail}:

That polished spider intake was beautiful. Was this car the white one that lost a battle with a tree?

Uh huh. The Wingnut award winner went to Tarek at SITM that year!

Was actually ceramic coated, not polished.

Sorry, but I've gotta disagree. I have a brother who leases vehicles so he never has to check the oil, change the fluids, replace tires, think about brake pads, etc. The guy is mechanically challenged and does not care to "look" for how to maintain anything. Turn the key and go, is his deal. Every 2 years, new car/truck for him.

Now the OP might be different, as they are asking for where something is located. Perhaps a troll, but if a genuine question, what a way to welcome a NooB to the shark tank.

Really? Comparing a brand new, lease vehicle use to a Porsche 928 vintage ownership forum? One would hope, or maybe even expect that before a new visitor posts about finding the dipstick, they might do a search, or read the sticky. I don't mind engaging new visitors here, but c'mon. They found the forum, they can find the sticky, and the "search" box right at the top center. I can't see it taking more than 2 min to do some basic research.

Dear Lord you guys, lighten up.

If yea got nothing nice to say to the new people, just skip the thread. It's not that difficult.

The vehicle doesn't dictate behavior of the owner. Some just are not mechanically inclined. Same brother has owned a Ferrari the past decade or so. Hasn't done a single bit of maintenance. Doesn't know how to check the oil, let alone how to fill/change, if needed. Bought the car when they were at the bottom of their "cycle" of value (like many 928 owners do/have), then drive until they stop "going". Deferred maintenance, galore. Thousands of miles past the "service due" point. He can find forums, too. But doesn't know what to look for, or even ask. I do agree that RL has a great "sticky post" for info and should be reviewed. But some Noobs jump in the pool first, then check temps. YMMV
