Default Red car going to visit Greg Brown

We all hate to see any of our cars on a trailer going away....but here it goes back to the shop for a new clutch. Why do you ask...?we were doing an article for Panorama an automotive journalist attempted to show off his 3rd pedal skills.

You mean the guy zinged it while trying to drop the clutch? Was he at least apologetic?

Panorama has been very good about it. Yes they are paying for it and once fixed the article will be finished and the author will be a different person. I think it will be the editor. There is a huge amount of respect for 928's in the upper Porsche community.

Van is it a stock clutch? Hard to imagine anyone who’s driven a stick before having that much difficulty or little respect.

So much that they sent that guy?

Not feeling like if there was that level of respect, that they would have sent this guy to review a GT3-RS...

They sent a guy of limited background, to do a story on a toy with some mods on it...showed up and went trailer park on the Camaro, is how I read the situation.

If your clutch had not been abused, you car would be wrapped around a tree.

Im glad they are stepping up, and communicating, and being really responsible about this..now.

On the other hand..you've worked and bled hard for this moment (once it arrives) with Panamara..I'm totes jealous.

While we are guessing, that could be it. Maybe he works for the P-car mag, is a millennial, and doesn't actually fundamentally understand clutch bite.

I thought that building looks familiar. I too store cars there, and had seen your 928 as I was parking my Mercedes. It was covered and I told my friend there’s a 928 under there .I snuck a peek, nice car.I have a 86.5 blue, but it hasn’t been stored there

It has one of your upgraded pressure plates.

I'll let Van tell the story about it's demise....it's one for the ages. Although there are tears in his eyes when he tells it, there's still that little special twinkle in his eyes and a bit of an incredulous laugh that tells me once the trauma of this is over, there's a really funny story to be told, for many years.

"We heard the engine rev up and "bounce" off the rev limiter as the car completely disappeared in a cloud of smoke. As the cloud wafted it's way towards us, it became very apparent that it wasn't rubber smoke, but clearly the acrid smell of clutch."

"The car no.longer moves forward or backwards unless you are pushing it.....and I can shift into any gear without depressing the clutch pedal"

Sounds like something like this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comm...g_out_instead/

Although the link is an attempt at a burnout to finish off a set of rear tires that was already done.

On the plus side, a 928 clutch is pretty easy to replace.
On the minus side, the parts are not cheap. And some are hard to find.

One more reason that there is a very short list of people who drive my cars.
